The Celtics have blown 20+ leads in BOTH GAMES

Post#1 » by picc » Thu May 8, 2025 1:40 am

They've been blowing the Knicks out for half the series and are somehow down 0-2.

Discuss.

It's an offensive philosophy issue (both meanings intended).

If I was the starting 5 I'd have a meeting with Joe to discuss some tweaks on offense, they can't keep playing like this.

They aren't just missing those threes either. They're missing them bad. Straight up CLANGS.

Between the Miami series and now going down 0-2 at home against the Knicks, the Celtics are in danger of having two of the biggest choke playoffs sandwiched inbetween a championship.

Yeah, there is an issue where Joe isn't reading the room/momentum/situation. I know they won last year slinging the 3, but it's obvious when the team looks a bit tight and is likely to continue to whiff. That's when a good coach gets a bunch of close range shots to stop the bleeding.

Also has to go on the players too, but the coach should set the tone.

Knicks defense being underrated here. Getting stops at the right time and running at them at the 3 point line.

You should change the tactic and stop taking threes in 3 seconds in the offence.

Not sure how these teams could be this dumb.

It's honestly mind boggling, anyone watching the game can see they are shooting themselves in the foot, but the Celtics players and coach doesn't seem to be figuring it out.

Absolutely insane what’s happening in the east’s series right now. Boston and Cleveland shat the bed in game 2 bad.

Boston will be facing huge pressure on Saturday in MSG. The crowd will be lit and nothing will come easy for the Celtics. I just don't see them cruising to another 20 point lead again.

yawn. I love how Joe got none of the credit when they won and gets most of the blame when they lose. Is it Joe's fault the Jays are mental midgets? Or Holiday inexplicably forgot to defend against Brunson on that final possession? Or that Jaylen Brown didn't go after that rebound that led to the three? Or that his team forgot to shoot? Do you these geniuses think Joe is asking them to play like crap and could do anything to prevent it? Players have to play. Coaching doesn't matter in the NBA.

The Celtics season ending in 2nd round would be more funny than the Suns missing the play-in. The Celtics with the roster they should be able to make the finals basically every year. Some very tough conversations may need to be had with Jayson Tatum far how good of player is he really.

Correct Joe got no credit and Tatum/Brown received all of the credit.

Now it's all Joe's fault that Tatum couldn't make a shot except for a wide open dunk in the final seven minutes of the game.

It is not the Knicks defense. They are chucking threes all game and missing them.

Dude, just stop now. They shot 40 3's, almost 10 below their season average. Yes, they shot a low percentage, and the Knicks had to do with that.
