A very astute point. I didn't get the gamble by Mazzulla. The fouls didn't put Mitch on the line and, as you pointed out, it limited how aggressive they could be at the defensive end.

Well it did make us pull him out of the game so we didn’t have him defensively down the stretch. But it didn’t matter

Seems like a major gamble and a major tell on what he thinks of our defense other than Mitch

Coming up on the last 2 minutes the limit doesn’t matter quite as much… I know towns had an and-1 on the next play, I’m not sure if they’d have been in the penalty by the Brunson game winning free throws but if not it makes the decision even worse for them. I don’t even think Boston players like doing it because they know it’s bush league it throws off their whole rhythm. They might not do it again
