Yes, Knicks played great defense, but the option to go to the basket was there, as we saw in the last minute. Celtics only needed a few buckets during that monstrous run, but they played this like a regular season game, as they always do.
This brand of basketball works. But that doesn’t mean the oppositon can’t/won’t gameplan for it. When they do, a good/great team adjusts and find other ways to be effective.
Case in point, the Thunder, Wolves, Warriors and Cavs all shoot 39-42 3 pointers in the regular season (Boston #1 at 48) but those teams are smart enough to slow down the chucking when needed and depending on game situation.
The Celtics (coaching?) did not not adjust at all in both games and is now paying for it in a 0-2 hole. That stubborness might cost them the series too.
