Everybody running with their Isaac narratives...Listen to the exit interview with full context. He wasn't "out of shape" like sitting on the couch eating chips
FO/Coach & Isaac mutually agreed that, perhaps, bulking up might allow him to play more C and be more resistant to injury. He spent much more time than usual in the weight room and much less time than usual on the court (BTW, he DID play all season without significant missed time-mostly preventative, I believe).
He said that he didn't feel like himself, felt slow and lethargic, etc...not some tabloid response "out of shape". He was very transparent - it was failed experiment and he's eager to spend less time lifting and more time on the court this summer. I expect a defensive revival from him next year.
-I don't know if his shooting will recover...although a degree of exhaustion certainly could factor into bad shooting
-I really hope that this year without injury is NOT a factor of the extra muscle and reduced summer court time...I really hope he's truly on the mend
-Isaac, at his best, is well worth $15m per...even on a minutes restriction, especially when things heat up at playoff time
-He was a non-factor this year, I wouldn't be heartbroken if he was moved for something that makes the team better, but I'm not looking to dump him
