Celtics main issue is on offense in my eyes. I think it's easily corrected by taking care of two issues.

1. Stop walking the ball up the court. This plays right into the Knicks hands by allowing them to set up their defense in the halfcourt.

2. Less of the Killer Whale Offense and more movement. The Celtics search for the miss match and combined with walking the ball up the court it normally leads to a player going ISO with 4-5 seconds left on the shot clock. Very easy to guard.

Push the ball!

Two other points. Stop the silly Robinson fouling and make open shots.

I'd add a third item, play some bench. It's not like the current rotation has been playing flawlessly

At this stage of the season, I don't think the Cs style of play will change.

The only hope now is the Cs make their 3s and shoot around 37% from 3pt land.

I haven’t folllowed this season nearly as much, in part because I didn’t find the team as engaging as last season. I watched full parts of the first round but I was fully focused on game action with a big screen last night for the first time in a while.

What I see is a good defensive team with an undisciplined offense and effort. If you can’t keep focus for 2 hours at work you don’t really care about the result. That’s what I see, not enough motivation and resourcefulness.

But it’s hardly the first time we get this from this team. We’re used to being sans KP so that’s no excuse.

If you’re up 20 two games in a row at home and allow a comeback, it’s not about talent or execution. It’s about perseverance and seriousness.

This team is a joke and this series reminds me of the one against the Heat in 2023, terrible feelings back then. Now I’m just way more detached, but man oh man.

It started with the McBride dunk. Tatum chose not to contest it for some reason. Then they lost focus on defense. Jaylen played a good first half, but I mainly blame him and Tatum and Mazzula for the debacle, as leaders of the team. Horf was unusually undisciplined too.

The offense is a mess. RS counts for shite. Brown, White and Pritch had flashes, but JT was out, not his confident self. Then things get close and there’s no reaction, no urgency, no pride. It’s mind boggling. Mazz is good for some things but I wish we had another coach.

Still, with the right mindset they could still take the series. I’m just not sure they’re gonna bring it.

And then OKC will be a deserving champion. Look how they reacted after a tough loss. Unlike us.

Keep it up peeps. Go yourselves.

the 2 Biggest things for me. So many promote regular season accomplishments as to why Joe is good. Judgment should be made when you are tested in the playoffs, not while on cruise control.

Further proof that Joe is clueless:

The last play was supposed to be a rerun of the previous play, where JT dunked the ball. Knicks defended differently and Joe knew this with 9 seconds left on the clock, but he still didn't call timeout to reset. Why???

intentional fouls to put the C's over the limit, not trusting anyone to come off the bench and give us a spark, clueless on running an NBA offensive play, list goes on and on. If this Group had an actual NBA coach like Spoelstra, we'd be up 2-0. Obviously, the players share a lot of the blame, but the coach is supposed to settle things down, organize and lead the team from the bench. Bubble gum Joe is a terrible Head Coach. Solid Asst, but def NOT a Head.

I suppose this can sum up my feelings as well. Joe is the worst of two kinds of bad.

1-incredibly flawed
2- incredibly stubborn.

But there is some good news. He's a player's coach

Horford was blocking two knick players there, and literally asking JT to attack the basket left side. If he did, he would have a wide open lane to the basket, and if hart gets infront, that would have been an easy drop pass to Dwhite.
Jt instead dribbled to the right side, and we all know what happened after. Smh. Dude doesn’t know what he is doing. No feel for the court or situational awareness. Joe could have designed a play off a timeout, but i don’t think he has any plays to draw.

THIS ^ is true and a "Celtic issue" is all on the coach. Practice fast, play fast, if Boston plays slow, call a timeout nd make them play faster. Sometime it is as easy as that.

Sure, but there's still not going to be any off-ball movement in the half-court. Joe's philosophy eschews that, which is why we often have so few assists and we live and die by the two or three things he likes.

I don't think we have sufficient intellectual firepower at the helm here.

This is it exactly. We still have a huge talent advantage over most teams. Give the top 3 available coaches an hour to explain how they'd optimize it and none of them would come to the same conclusions as Joe.
