he's been consistently doing what we need him to. it's bigger than the box score.
KAT provides elite spacing even when he's not producing.
Some of us here take it for granted, but it's immensely valuable to the Knicks offense. Constantly so.
Only 4 or 5 other bigs in the NBA have that level of gravity on the perimeter.
Just look how much space Brunson has when KAT's on the perimeter. Teams are scared of his shooting.

Yea, Game 1 was the most important and Game 2 was a must win. At this point, every game is a must win. When you got a dangerous team like this, you can’t give them any hope.
Like a killer in a horror movie, you don’t just stab him once or twice and walk away thinking he’s dead, you gotta go buck wild on em to make sure he ain’t getting up again.
Don’t you love Thibs spree???
Told u switching was the way! Happy he made that key adjustment.
It’s like a boxer getting beat down for the first 10 rounds, only to come out during the championship rounds as a southpaw… it totally threw them off.
Thibs with that late game checkmate on Mazz n his chess guru, with the Mitch/OG sub, getting them 1 closer to the bonus was masterclass too.

also look at my man Mikal sneaking on that list!

4 off the leader when the leader is on the same team and has double the 2nd place. Mikal has arrived. And he is playing lock down 4th quarter defense.

The switching hasn’t been something that has worked. Celtics still keep getting wide open looks and they have built up 20+ leads in back to back games. It’s the emphasis on protecting the paint, living with their 3 point chucking and then just extra effort from individual players when it comes to moving their feet, deflecting passes, digging and stripping the ball, contesting shots on their drives, etc. which has helped us in the comebacks

KAT and Mitch have overall been very good in these two games when they do a straight switch onto JB/Tatum. Burned sometimes, sure, but mostly good outcomes for us. We should absolutely continue to switch. It's when we get caught in a drop or are late on our switch that we have gotten consistently burned.

I have my earbuds on now and even the music I normally listen to just sounds better and the notes and beats just flow differently. My YouTube recommendations all look fantastic. And this energy I'm feeling, is close to what I was feeling back in '99. I'm still super cautiously optimistic, but it feels so much better than being hopelessly optimistic.
Let the good vibes continue. This team has me almost wanting to dance and look like a fool at the office right now.
