The Toronto Raptors beat the Brooklyn Nets for the fourth straight time, closing out the Eastern Conference semifinals with a resounding 136-123 game 5 victory in front of their home crowd at Scotiabank Arena, winning the series 4-1.

The Brooklyn Nets succumbed to the Raptors diversified offensive attack, which continues to display versatility, with Toronto shooting an eye-popping 60% from the field and 40% from three to send the Nets on vacation.

Brooklyn was a preseason favorite to win the Atlantic Division, making the splashy trade for Kevin Durant — who proved to be a nonfactor this series — joining forces with Joel Embiid and Jalen Brunson to form a gaudy “Big Three.”

However, Toronto’s defensive identity and its surprisingly potent ball sharing offense have proven to be underrated all season, and the playoffs thus far have proven to be no different.

Victor Wembanyama dominated in a compelling close-out game performance, leading seven Raptors in double-figures. Rudy Gobert battled Embiid to a stalemate, while stuffing the stat sheet. Meanwhile, Amen Thompson and Bol Bol continue to admirably replace the contributions of the injured Lu Dort. Jrue Holiday was once again rock solid, in addition to Collin Sexton and Michael Porter Jr. bringing offensive firepower off the bench.

The Raptors will now face the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals.
