No disrespect but Joe is the weakest coach remaining in the playoff

Where the coach is most influential like stoping runs, designing plays, calming down players, taking timely timeouts and reacting to other team's adjustments - he underperforms badly

Last game - why not take a TO in the last play? You save it for what? You saw JT getting trapped - take a TO
Design better plays out of TO (end of games 1 and 2)
Stop NY runs with a timely TO

Joe is proud of taking TO to save a possession (like Hauser falling with the ball to the floor), but unable to take a TO to make us get a real shot at winning
These are the margins that the coach is in-charge of and Joe is failing badly

Joe respects Celtics tradition, has a great work ethic, has represented the team and the city of Boston with professionalism and honor.

It just seems like a lot of people disagreed (incl myself) with some of his basketball beliefs and assumptions about the best way to play on offense and defense to win playoff games.

And Joe was promoted because of some crazy circumstances and won the chip last year and took that as validation of his beliefs and leaned more into the mazzullaball this year. Probably half of all Celtics fans I've talked to had serious concerns about Joe's approach and we voiced those issues over and over and over again the last 3 yrs, but especially this year where we pushed the mazzula ball approach to a new max level.

It sucks we lost the two games at home in the way we did. It's tough but it is what it is. What's the point of making a whole list of the things I disagree with at this point, we're down 0-2 and going on the road. I don't see how we win the series. But I'm not gonna get angry at the coach at this point.

You can’t nor shouldn’t survive when you blow back to back 20 point third quarter leads at home in the playoffs. There is no universe where that should be acceptable.

Game 2, it's 73-53 Boston with 3:12 left. Here are the next possessions for the Celtics on the offensive end:
Tatum and Brown have a two v. one and throw the ball out of bounds (https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=412&GameID=0042400212&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=Brown%20Out%20of%20Bounds%20Lost%20Ball%20Turnover%20(P5.T12))
Porzingis somehow manages to blow an uncontested putback (https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=422&GameID=0042400212&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=MISS%20Porzingis%20Tip%20Layup%20Shot)
Porzingis runs into Brunson for an offensive foul (https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=427&GameID=0042400212&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=Porzingis%20Offensive%20Foul%20Turnover%20(P1.T13))
Tatum throws a lob about a foot outside of Porzingis' catch radius while ignoring two wide open corner shooters (https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=432&GameID=0042400212&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=Tatum%20Bad%20Pass%20Turnover%20(P2.T14))

By then the Knicks have scored 8 straight points and Mazzulla burns a timeout with 58 seconds remaining in the quarter even though there's like two possessions left in the quarter because he feels like they need to settle down NOW. Which doesn't match his reputation as a guy that never takes timeouts but whatever facts are lame.

Coming out of the timeout Brown decides to abort whatever the playcall was, freelances, spins into two defenders and predictably looses the ball (https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=437&GameID=0042400212&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=Brown%20Lost%20Ball%20Turnover%20(P6.T15))
Brown decides to run the clock all the way down on the last possession of the quarter and takes a garbage fadeaway three over Robinson (https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=445&GameID=0042400212&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=MISS%20Brown%2030%27%203PT%20Pullup%20Jump%20Shot)

End of quarter so another stoppage in play that does nothing to stop the bleeding.Y'all acting like calling a timeout will automatically end runs or there is any coach on the planet that can get Brown to play smart basketball are hilarious.

If Knicks eliminates us, he should be fired. If Brad resists, he should be fired too.

There is something else going on. New ownership incoming, and they are going to be looking at the team in a very long-term, macro lens. The KP thing, Joe's comments, the weird energy from the bench (and the NY crowd in Boston). Something shifted after the Orlando series and the team is having some sort of identity crisis.

Joe may end up a scapegoat in some ways, and may lose his job. But Joe gonna Joe. I certainly don't expect him to change his approach one iota in the next games, even if they may be his last as coach.

Brad really needs to stick around during the transition, at least. If he leaves, it will probably be on his own terms.

Last season, Mazzulla-Ball worked and it resulted in a championship.

The philosophy is volume of 3s will produce more scoring opportunities.

And if complemented by good to great defense, the Cs will win by a hefty margin.

But this season, Cavs and OKC emphasized efficiency and discipline on offense.

That's actually better than the Cs philosophy because efficiency will take full advantage of mistakes, miss shots, and 50-50 balls.

The discipline on offense will also result in more open shots.

What I don't like about the Cs offense is the heat checks and trying to score even if well defended.

So I believe Mazzulla-Ball has run its course and it's time to tweak the system.

So?!
What you tell here is that he does not control Brown, or didn't call any out of TO play (you assumed that Brown botched a play called)
What about the end of game lack of TO?
And what adjustments did he make to stop the Bridges run?
How about taking the ball out of Brunson's hand, or just let him cook, get a basket or go to the line?
No adjustments at all
A brick wall

Regardless our problem wasn’t defense, lol. Our offense has been complete junk. Who knows who to blame there, but I can really only find myself blaming Joe in that sense that he can’t really motivate Tatum consistently, imo. Even then, it feels like a stretch.

Bridges went off to score 8 points when Brunson was on the bench
And I suggested to get the ball out of Brunson hands

Tatum’s played 120 playoff games. This shouldn’t be an issue at this point & blaming the coach is just another way to put no accountability on Tatum.

Bridges scored 8 points in game 1. He hadn’t scored in the first 3 quarters of game 2. He was shooting 3/21 leading into the 4th quarter. What adjustments are you supposed to make ? lol

Regardless our problem wasn’t defense, lol. Our offense has been complete junk. Who knows who to blame there, but I can really only find myself blaming Joe in that sense that he can’t really motivate Tatum consistently, imo. Even then, it feels like a stretch.

Tatum’s played 120 playoff games. This shouldn’t be an issue at this point & blaming the coach is just another way to put no accountability on Tatum.

I didn't say JT isn't to blame for this loss. JT, JB, KP, Al - all played poorly and deserve criticism, and if you read my other posts you'll see I am criticising everybody :)

I just think that Joe has to be better, especially in-game adjustments, timely TOs and good out of TOs plays to get your team the best chance to win a playoff game
He underperformed in the last two games and deserve the criticism for them

What you tell here is that he does not control Brown, or didn't call any out of TO play (you assumed that Brown botched a play called)
What about the end of game lack of TO?
And what adjustments did he make to stop the Bridges run?
How about taking the ball out of Brunson's hand, or just let him cook, get a basket or go to the line?

No adjustments at all
A brick wall

No
Did you watch the game?
Bridges went off to score 8 points when Brunson was on the bench
And I suggested to get the ball out of Brunson hands

Alright let's talk "facts".

The Celtics were up 12 after three quarters (73-61). After the Bridges "run" while Brunson sat, the Celtics lead was down... to 12 (84-72 when Brunson checks in at the 6:39 mark). That is not what a run is.

Here are the Bridges shots during that stretch:
Bridges makes a contested off the dribble 18 foot fadeaway jumper (https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=463&GameID=0042400212&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=Bridges%2018%27%20Fadeaway%20Jumper%20(2%20PTS))
Bridges makes an uncontested off the dribble 9 foot fadeaway after a miscommunication between Horford and Porzingis
(https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=470&GameID=0042400212&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=Bridges%209%27%20Fadeaway%20Jumper%20(4%20PTS))
Bridges makes a contested catch and shoot three from the wing over Jrue Holiday (https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=476&GameID=0042400212&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=Bridges%2026%27%203PT%20Running%20Jump%20Shot%20(7%20PTS)%20(McBride%201%20AST))
Bridges misses a fairly uncontested off the dribble three point shot in transition (https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=482&GameID=0042400212&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=MISS%20Bridges%2025%27%203PT%20Running%20Pull-Up%20Jump%20Shot)
Bridges makes an fairly uncontested off the dribble 13 foot fadeaway (https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=519&GameID=0042400212&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=Bridges%2013%27%20Fadeaway%20Jumper%20(9%20PTS))

This isn't a defense that's breaking down and allowing layups or straight line drives to the rim. That's an ice cold (to that point) shooter draining pull up jumper after pull up jumper over the contest. He has like one clean look over that sequence.
