Mickey York out as pre/post-game announcer

Mickey York, who has worked with FanDuel Sports Network in various on-camera positions for 25 years, announced on X that his position has been eliminated and he will no longer appear on broadcasts of the Detroit Tigers.

York was recently the host of the pre-and-postgame shows for the Tigers and Detroit Pistons

Smooth Johnny also gets a mention, though this is mostly a Tigers article.

This sucks. Obviously FanDuel is cutting costs, and the Tigers are going their own way with on-air talent in preparation of likely splitting from FanDuel in the not too distant future, but Mickey’s been a staple there for well over 20 years. I figured they'd keep him on for Pistons coverage - I can’t remember a season without him as the primary studio host, all the way back to the early-to-mid 2000s when it was kind of an open secret that the studio shows were being produced out of Seattle. But I guess its cheaper to have the hosts be fresh out of broadcast school and being paid half the salary of the longtimers. I hope he finds another gig in the area.
