Yeah, let's not be this soft on the internet.

Guys joke around like this often. Everyone calm down.

let’s not backseat moderate. in the future it’ll be helpful to either report and ignore or message a moderator. anything else and you’re kind of putting yourself into and extending the mess.

However if I'm the Knicks I'm not letting PJ Tucker go if this team makes the Finals or puts up a good fight in the EC Finals. In fact I'm thinking of him for a head coach job

Let me say this about Thibs...There was a shot of him in game coaching. He looked so confident and so relaxed. I've NEVER seen that in him. Ever. I dont know what's going on but I like it KG!

He realized he’s coaching for his life and job

Thibs always looks frustrated and stressed. We could really go on some special run...He didnt look that way at that moment.

Not at all. We are actually doing a better job protecting the paint not the 3 point line. They still get a ton of open looks, which fortunately for us they have been missing. But we have shut down drives on the two guys who can actually get inside and have punished us inside in the past and that’s Tatum and Brown.

It’s far more nuanced than this. Switching has helped, I haven’t heard or read anyone saying it hasn’t anywhere …besides you.

Switching helps more than just defending 3’s too. It puts you in better position to defend drives by far, as you’re not having guys die on the screen forcing KAT to defend two guys coming at him in drop as a result.

Our guys are very active and doing a lot on that side of the ball, so the success is not all because of switching, because the game is complex, but it absolutely, without a doubt, has had a major benefit. I honestly dunno how it’s remotely debatable.

No, the switching has put us in some uncomfortable situations especially earlier in the games. The switching is what got KAT out the game with 3 quick fouls in game 1 and we’ve been in a deep hole in both games. It’s given them a bunch of open and wide open looks from outside. What’s been the biggest difference is the effort to rotate and help, aside from some excellent individual defense from a few. But collectively they are fighting through screens and going over, they aren’t dying on the screens even in drop coverage because they are doing what they were always capable of and just making the effort to get over the screen. OG and Josh have been excellent at coming over to help and getting deflections. Even contests at the rim were super aggressive where we have swarmed them and gotten huge stops with weak side blocks. It’s just the sense of urgency and effort that they are playing with. The principle of protecting the paint has still been the same but we are doing a much better job with our shell defense. We still give up a lot of open 3s and our margin of victory and amount of time we have actually lead hasn’t been that good. Fortunately they have missed a lot of shots they are very capable of making but we’ve still done a much better job of playing with energy and effort.

Switching didn’t get Kat in foul trouble, phantom calls did. Please watch the games.

I’m still in disbelief we won lol After the way we struggled winning the Detroit series. We looked soft. I thought we would win at most one game vs Boston. Man I was wrong. A light switch went off with this team. The vibe feels completely different. We’re playing tough physical defense. The aura around this team has me thinking delusional thoughts we can win it all lol

I've been saying all season that we needed Mitch to see the full potential of this team.
Not to mention, Mazzulla agrees with you that why he's been fouling Mitch. I like the fact that Thibs gets it all.
I think the Knicks will give game three their all at the garden.

i would guess he wants to keep starting hart, who's been one of our better players, and they gave up too much for mikal to bench him.

the starting lineup just hasn't done that well though. -3.7 net rating in the playoffs

the starters and mitch, Instead of kat, are our 2nd most used lineup and have a net rating off 11.3

i think for now he'll just try to weather the storm of the starters not being perfect together and since we're winning it's ok.

I don't think we struggled against Detroit- I think Detroit was that good defensively. And I think the same thing is happening to Boston fans and media members that think Boston is struggling against the Knicks when they shouldn't be. Defense rattles a players game. The Knicks are the reason for Boston's struggles. It's not because the great Boston is "missing too many open shots".

I wouldnt change anything -we're winning...I think the knicks just need to be more mindful of our offensive rebounding and energy levels.
Really focus on getting and keeping a lead for the entire game.

i didn't think we looked soft at all. i thought we both looked tough. maybe detroit had a little more on their toughness slider at times, or even overall. but i wouldn't say we were soft. i thought that whole series was a miserable, brutal thing of beauty.

if we were soft, our talent wouldn't have been enough for that 6-game metal bat party and the pistons would be standing here right now. and i love that.

thanks for everything, thibs.
