You're kinda making my point lol. Good seasons make people forget that the previous years were unceremonious in Utah/LA where he shot 39/35 and didn't really have a role. You can look at a guy like Bruce Brown who is kinda in the mold now - highly valued player on Denver (whether Jokic-effect or not), and floating ever since, but could be really good in the right system again.

Dlo has never been a plus net points per 100 player. He has had a few seasons > 1.0 on offense, though. He's also a primary playmaker, consistently > 30% assist rate. Interesting option off the bench if we promote AB.

I know you are on the same page as me... whoever doesn't stunt AB's growth. Clearly AB isn't there offensively YET. No doubt he's gonna crush this summer and come back a 35%+ 3pt shooter who is creating more of his own shots and going to the foul line more. Defensively hes going to rival Suggs. Absolute Menace. DR would be a nice addition and upgrade over Cole.

Nobody is "stunting" his growth. Black will be who he's going to be as a player regardless of whos on the roster. He reads as a secondary playmaker occasionally initiating the offense but not a natural lead guard. It wouldnt surprise me if his ceiling is Dyson Daniels.

Not to hijack the thread but half Dyson Daniels, half Joe Ingles would be the best realistic outcome, imo...and that's a good one. Also a reason to get Ingles back in ORL for another year of influence, either in uniform or on the staff. Perfect vet big brother for AB...cool-headed but fiery, fierce but patient, BBIQ>athleticism but then add in the size and athleticsm

I don't think he's on any kind of decline or question his skillset...people are concerned that he has a history of knuckleheaded-ness and locker room friction. I'd be willing to definitely take a hard look, people grow up and mature when they go from teen superstar in the making to being kicked around the league and disregarded.

I think having Mose as a Head Coach gives ORL an opportunity to recruit more prior troublemakers than other renowned hardass coaches (like Carlisle, Thibs, Spoelstra, etc). I don't think Mose is soft at all, I just think he's really got that "Dad" thing...a true Players Coach above all. I also have faith that Mose can get guys like Simons to be much better defenders...we have to play to our strengths. If Mose's best attribute as a coach is this kind of stuff, than go with it. He may not be the X's and O's guy, but he does have the love and respect of the players around the league, for some reason.

Yeah to me its probably not a "lets sell the farm to get him" but would I want him? Absolutely. If it cost us Suggs or Black? I am still listening until I hear the entire deal. Just saying, we can't have a team of buddy buddy locker room guys. As much as I wanted that to work out for us, we just ended up with no offensive depth.

Perfect example of what we both are talking about I think is Cole. I visibly saw him try like it or not on defense. He just couldn't be consistent enough with his offense. Which again, surprises me. But it is what it is. He would do better elsewhere I think.

Idea with Russell is that if the Nets don't re-sign him, he is a free agent in a market where nobody except the Nets has money.

It would probably take us going over the tax to sign any of these guys, but if you can get a potential rotation guy for a short term below MLE deal why not? Not just D'lo, goes for any of the free agents this year.

I think D'lo and AB off the bench could be nice. Guy has put up 17-20 PPG 6 assists as a starter recently on good 3 shooting, he could probably carve bench units and AB takes the harder guard cover. Not saying he will take that role here, but somebody decent might in free agency. Plus upside for more minutes due to Suggs' injury history.
