You got to reward a winger who is closer to 300 goals than he is to 100 goals and VVD is the leader on top of his game where everything is build on. They could have taken the easy way out, more money elsewhere but they love the shirt enough to chase more titles for LFC.

Sure it was Spurs who are battered mentally and broken tactically but it was great team performance. I liked seeing the control in with ball, brilliant crosses from VVD and the dominant midfield 3 and the speed of the attack and the passing gave Salah his classic dribble in goal.

It was fun to watching their level and creativity being back in style.

20!! Beautiful game to win it with.

So nice to get to celebrate this time!! Love it. Grats to all the Liverpool fans!

Shout out to Klopp. This was his team. And shout out to Slot, who knew enough not to screw with things too much. But he certainly made some tweaks to give it his fingerprints too. Ryan G is a great example.

Party time! Love it. Grats again Liverpool fans, and players alike! YNWA

What a beautiful way to crown this season! Slot's done an incredible job remolding this team into one that can control games, and we've seen the dividends of that approach realized over the course of a long season, particularly because we don't have comparable high-end talent in every position. Really, really proud of this team. 20!
It's time for 5 refs.

Congratulations to you guys! Well deserved win and I'm just grateful for entertaining season by LFC.
Teams like Arsenal, their predictable style bored me and City is tragic example of the pointlessness of ball possession style.

Sad about Trent, but I suppose we all knew this day was coming.

Yup. I'm bummed he's leaving, disappointed it's on a free, but Trent has given his life to the club and won everything, so fair play to him.

Yeah, I've watched some youtube stuff, and listened to several podcasts...and it's all over the map, in regards to fan responses. He'll get some boo's and he's gonna have to wear it. My issue with him is that you can't play up the whole "local boy / boyhood club" thing.....and then just leave. Leave on a free (better for yourself). I mean, you can.......but be ready for backlash.

In the end....I don't think a S&T woulda made a huge difference in fan reaction. But it woulda shown a little commitment to your "boyhood dream club" which you played up. It's the weird sword edge that sports, and sports players walk with their fans. One one hand, it's RAH RAH RAH!!!! THIS IS LIVERPOOL!!!!! Buy our jerseys (at like $150) and represent!!! Learn the songs....travel from around the country...around the world. etc etc. But then it's "Hey guys...it's just a game. He doesn't owe you anything" when that serves their purpose.

Trent played up and fed the "boyhood club" thing. It helped his brand back then. So while I agree with you that it's his life...and he's absolutely got the right to make choices like this....and I get Madrid are what they are for almost all soccer players, but he played an angle with the fans when it benefited him....so I get why people wanna question if it was just branding, after how he's done nothing but suit himself on the way out. And if it was just branding....then he can F-off.

I understand the disappointment of the Local hero leaving but surely 20 years of service can't just be forgotten and dismissed? Not like he left to join Manchester United or another PL rival?
I'm AS Roma fan and my greatest hero is Francesco Totti, i wouldn't hate him if he had left for Real as long he didn't join Lazio/Juventus/Milan/Inter. If i was a Liverpool fan, i would accept much more from Trent than all the mercenaries that was bought from other teams.
I don't care VVD is the captain, he would play for any top team before LFC and Salah played for Chelsea, Roma etc. Frankly in my eyes they are the mercenaries doing their job in comparison to the boy that loves the team. I don't care if Salah is the greatest Liverpool player ever. You can't emotionally dislike the player who gave the team decades of his life.

This of course only in my humble opinion. :)

But then Liverpool fans bat no eye at poaching Villa players, or what not. So there's hypocrisy to go round.

He's been a great player. Sad to see him go. I don't fully understand how Madrid is a "step up"....but to him, it is. So best of luck to him. But you did leave on terms that suited you best....to cheaply steal a famous phrase....you "walked alone" on this one. So I understand the anger.

It was time he left, IMO. Paying that much, based on the rumored contract offer, for a RB would have hampered LFC.

More importantly, and this is where I may differ to others, I prefer a more balanced RB, whereas TAA's strengths was on the offensive side of the pitch.

It is a great point. He didn't goto Chelsea or United, or Man-$ity. That woulda been unforgivable. It's a different league. Although Madrid have been a thorn in our side, with CL finals (finals Trent played in)...so there is that.

As for the 20 years of service...I see it different. You can make just as strong an argument that Liverpool spent 20 years building and making him the player he is. He's world famous, and a mega-millionaire. He was a 6-year old kid....who benefited just as much from this relationship, as they did from him. At least that's how I see it.

I guess I see, and agree with all sides really. I get the people who say it's his life, and he's won a ton here, and it's fair play to goto Madrid. Totally get it. I also totally understand that if your gonna play up the "local boy" thing....well that comes with some rules too, no?

All that said....we won the League!!!! Let's not forget it. He was a huge part of it. Let's enjoy it, and give him his respect. People can boo him next time we face RM in the CL if they want =0)

At the very least, he's not joining a Madrid team with Ramos still in it.
It's time for 5 refs.

Think Slot handled this about as well as one could:

Liverpool manager Arne Slot says he is not going to "tell the fans how they should react" to Trent Alexander-Arnold after the right-back announced he will leave the club this summer.

Slot confirmed Northern Ireland international Conor Bradley, 21, will start against Arsenal on Sunday at right-back as he prepares for Alexander-Arnold's exit in a situation he was used to at his previous clubs.

Arsene Wenger just said world class players won't be sold anymore, they will go for free to get more pay, bonuses. The new market that not only Real will follow.
The agents and the teams avoiding the extra transfer fees have too much power.

This is way too soon to say, it is not easy replacing world class player, specially one that helped Salah score many goals. Like Dani Alves and Messi.
Players of his level deserve that pay, otherwise they wouldn't play for Real.

Bradley is "so far" an injury prone player that wasn't good enough Vs Leicester, substituted and it is much harder dealing with the pressure of a starting fullback. Compared to the sub who was good 20 minutes Vs Real Madrid imho.

Regarding Bradley, I do not believe he should simply be handed the keys to that position. For this reason, I'm please to read the club is looking at Frimpong and others.
