“Stepania! Dunking onya!”
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Listening to Pat press conference he states that improvement from within is not the change that he feels the Heat needs to depend on. Hinting towards there is a goal to remodel this roster.

he should have resigned or retire or whatever. the fact that he didnt... oh well this team is going to suck for awhile do not expect getting out of the 10th seed only to be swept at the 1st round of the playoffsVertical Limit wrote:What a terrible day for heat fans

Unfortunate.
That is not the negative context in what he said. He talked about the need for a star. He mentions the difficulty that the contracts, the cap limitations and how much teams want to gut your roster makes it challenging. He emphasis that this roster needs to make moves not just internal improvement.
He agreed on everything you neen asking. He talks about Spo needs to change his offense and defense. That Spo struggle was obvious because of personal issues.

At least he acknowledged that "improve from within" crap is no longer valid....it's a start.

Riley did show he was bothered by Butler's exit. Talks about all the memorable moments Butler had and how he has many memorable moments of Butler in his office. You can tell he is bothered by the age question and his mental state jokes. There was nothing negative he said. However, you can see the age is catching up with him. He is slowing down, his great speaking chops and charisma is fading. I don't feel Pat need to retire, however I think a new public team voice is now needed. And I think its time for Zo to step in and be that media public voice.

I think there are sideline GMs watching Heat looking and waiting for a job opportunity to open. They are watching it closely. The Heat franchise has been a place that job openings is never open. And hopes are when changes at the top happen will there be a large change in staff and management also. Its remain to be seen. I do think Bob Myers is someone who really waiting for the Heat openings to happen. The Heat franchise is the one place that has long term job security and that is gold mine for anyone who want a nba job and a great living destination

Edit-MCJ beat me to it.
I think the heavy Vladimir Stepania and Earl Barron minutes respectively gave it away, no?
Blake Ahearn anyone?
I figured this was tank 3.0 with all the Rozier minutes, especially during the losing streak.

Zo is well prepared and a great spokes person for the Heat. Its time to put him center stage as team president

Re: 2025 Regular/Offseason Season Thread Vol. 10
I think the Heat will pursue Durant strongly. I am skeptical what will be the limits they are willing to give up for Durant. Riley hints that not only a star but the right role players need to be explored. He points out the trades for Iggy and Crowder and the trades for Posey, Walker and Williams. I think at the very least the Heat will be look to add two new starters and some bench players. Pat didn't sound thrilled about how young the team was. I expect even if the Heat trade Durant they will be trades to change other roster spots and in the starting lineup. I don't think Ware and Niko is safe.

He makes sense as the heir apparent. The rest of the guys in the FO don't like doing media.

I think when Spo returns there needs to be a real discussion on can Ware become a scorer.
