I'm also so tired of hearing about Tatum mishandling of the ball on that last defensive stop as if that's why he didn't get to the rim and score on the play without anyone acknowledging the reason why OG wasn't as quick to step up was because Horford fouling him by holding his arm.

If Celtics got Mike Malone we'd be in trouble.

What is Malone's coaching record without having Jokic? Not saying he's a bad coach but he's greatly benefitted from having one of the best offensive big men in league history. Although, that might make him a good fit for an established team with stars set in place like the Celtics.

Jenkins might be a pretty good candidate, too, he gets alot out of the talent. There are a couple of retreads that I think would be terrible fits but knowing Stevens, he'd probably go with a relatively unknown assistant.

Not sure what his record was, but I know he was good for the Kings as well.
He has been on some good teams as an assistant.
He is off the Riley tree.

I could see that..but even if it doesnt happen, this version of Mitch is awesome anyway.

current state is athletic enough for him to be the best nba player possible. they put him in the weight room and made him dominant on the glass and quick and talented enough to defend the perimeter. it’s beautiful and we don’t deserve him.

Right we don't need the high flying block attempts...often times those came with unnecessary fouls. I like the measured approach he takes now...it keeps him in games.

I overcame my lazy internet habit and looked at his basketball reference page...he never had a season above .500 until he had Jokic for whatever that is worth. He also started his NBA coaching career on the Knicks bench as an assistant during the dreaded Isiah Thomas era.

Maybe he can find his way to the Knicks bench this summer as an assistant but I'm pining for a guy who hasn't proven anything outside of being lucky enough to coach Jokic. I don't know how much 'coach that gets a team over the hump' he has in him but as an assitant, ok.

Then start him and let Mazzulla try the hack-a-mitch gimmick.

We get in the Bonus immediately while slowing the game down to an unplayable pace that makes it impossible for the game to have any offensive flow/rhythm .

Our offense is already without flow/rhythm..so our guys would be most comfortable playing this way....but the Celtics, not so much. Their Shooters can't find a rhythm playing this way. They'll be ice cold from 3.

Barely.

His game is still great but he is basically doc holiday fighting with consumption going to die at any moment. Sadly, the sham plague will unfortunately get him eventually.

So Mitch chases around a little point guard in the half court, stopping a drive to the basket then tracking him all the way out to the 3 point line on the opposite side of the floor to prevent a pull up 3 and then intercepts the entry pass. Subsequently, on the other end he gets the rebound over someone who has a couple inches on him while he's being boxed out by him to then jam it home for the bucket.

I have been reading how Mitch isn't his old self...interesting theory, this self is pretty darn good even though I've been also reading how he's always kinda sucked and was a net negative who would be a liability in the playoffs against the best teams. This despite the evidence of him being one of the most important players leading to series victories in multiple seasons.

Also....are we not going to talk about the little baby hook he hit? It was one of the most awkward looking baby giraffe wobbly ones I've ever seen but he actually hit it after it hit every part of the basket before going through. Yes, he hit a shot from outside the defensive arc...this needs to get more attention. Maybe even raise a banner or put up a statue.
