Nah best offenses I ever saw were the pre-KD Warriors, the Antoni Suns with Joe Johnson, '14 Spurs and the 2nd 3-peat Bulls teams.

Sabonis was a starter and he's a stud! He's kind of a mini Jokic.

Most people know what I think of Sabonis, so I wont start a huge debate again, but mini Jokic takes just makes me shake my head. That guy shouldn't even be starting on NBA teams, I can not believe how overrated that dude is by some people. The main difference between him and some bench centers, is just minutes per game, he and his regular season stats is biggest sham in a league. Dude can't even pass, he pads stats with hand offs, and hes mini Jokic to some people. Pacers just flat out robbed the Kings there, Kings can enjoy Sabonis and his play in losses. Turner was always Pacers main center when they still had both, and deservingly so.

I don't want to get into a back and forth.

I hated trading Sabonis he's a 20 pts, 13.8 rebounds and 6 assists per game guy who shot 41.7% from 3 pt range on 2.2 attempts. That's not a large number of attempts but a clear improvement over his past shooting. He's also just turned 29.

All that said I love Tyrese Haliburton.

What will the Kings do to improve their team going forward? I have not idea. Will they trade Sabonis now? I don't feel like they did very well on the DeAaron Fox trade and their draft history has been pretty bad. It looks like the Hawks have the Kings #1 this year so will they make more moves to try to get better, I don't see them going anywhere with this team. Getting LaVine looks like a boondoggle to me and DeRozen is kinda old. He's 36 in August.

A good thread topic might be what can the Kings get if they were to trade Sabonis?

I think Sabonis needs and great shooting PF and SF who also play good Defense because his D is not that great.

I know Bulls fans who are now terrified that Bulls will trade for Sabonis, as hes exactly type of mediocrity Bulls love, and their president is Lithuanian. That would be Vuc trade all over again.

Sabonis to me now is literally what Vucevic was on the Magic, none of them were even mid for what is required, but had basic boxscore numbers on bad teams, and fooled everyone into thinking they were good. Also similar to Bargnani, I mean Bargnani was worse, but he was one of the worst players in the NBA while averaging 18 points per game, so yeah, its possible to have good stats and be bad. I mean, Sabonis is not ''bad'', but IMO he is far from good, he is just a guy who should be playing maybe 16 minutes a game, but is casted in 37 minute role and he just racks stats that don't mean anything. Boban would have had all NBA numbers too if he played more, it doesn't mean anything.

Sabonis shot over 40% from 3, but he is not at a point where he is spacing defenses, and thats what is more important. In the games, opponents will give him those 3s every time, and yeah, on average he might hit one, but he is not seen as threat and he does not space defenses with his shot. He came up short every time in a major international tournament, or NBA play offs, play in, when hes preped, his true ability shows of, which is below mediocre NBA player, which is still good in grand scheme of things, but I feel so insane when people call him stud or All NBA worthy, like its freaking insane.

Regular Season Relative Offensive Rating
1. 2004 Mavericks +9.2
2. 2005 Suns +8.4
3. 2016 Warriors +8.1
4. 2024 Celtics +7.9
t5. 2002 Mavericks +7.7
t5. 2010 Suns +7.7
t5. 1997 Bulls +7.7

Four of those teams were anchored by Steve Nash. What a crazy offensive player.

That's a great observation. Thankyou.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

They're getting the most out of their talent.

Carlisle is a great coach.

I can think of several things to call Carlisle. Great isn’t one of them. The Pacers have alot of depth. Siakam has lucked into these teams where he somehow averages 18-20 and it seems like he doesn’t do jack sh*t. A lot of their bench players should be starters over their actual starters and that seems to be the difference in alot of their games.

I mean if you wanted to start Bryant & Toppin next round, that would be cool :-p

This is the real take. Carlisle might be one of the most underrated coaches ever. He’s always gotten a ton out of his rosters.

Ofcourse it's about the (offense) coaching. When you use dozen or more rotation and get same output as collective. It's 100% the coaching.

And it's not the first time we seen a Carlisle led team punch over their weight class.

Because the Celtics are just as mentally soft as the Cavs, so they won’t be there

If you all do what the Pacers just did to the Cavs, I'll believe ya. If the Celtics have a 20 point lead for the 4th straight game, i am not buying any Knicks stock.

This team doesn't win blowouts  but as long as we're in Brunson range heading into the 4th, it's hard not to feel confident about this team after things started to click in that Pistons series. Especially with Mazulla's resistance to making adjustments, I get why we play looser the later into games it gets and why they play tighter; unlike Joe, Thibs pounces on the openings they show us in the first half.

I'd love a 48 minute effort in game 4, but I'm not super confident in that happening...or us winning even. What I am expecting is for us to head into the 4th quarter of game 4 or 5 down by a dozen(ish) before Brunson'ing them again to set us up to ice it in game 6 or 7 with a 48 minute effort...when we finally jump out to a big lead in this series and they just wilt under the pressure of trying to crawl back.

The Pacers with 66 points in the second half against the best defense the NBA has seen since the 08' Celtics. The Pacers offense is no joke.

He_Got_Game wrote:Indiana has the best offense I've ever seen and I'm not even joking. I honestly don't know where they are actually ranked on offense but I don't really care. I trust my eyes on this one. I'm a Celtics fan and I saw them do this to us last year in the playoffs, then again this past regular season, and again to other teams this playoffs. Their offense is practically unstoppable. They always shoot like 55+ percent from the two AND from three. They never stop running and always put up near 120 in all of their games. Andrew Nembhard turns into Michael Jordan hitting tough middies and tough threes.

I really don't think Cleveland is going to survive this series. There aren't many teams that will be able to keep up with their offense other than the Celtics.

OP here gives us a good definition of the term "recency bias".
