More than anyone else, i think Charlotte should really push to land Claxton (he would be a pretty good long term fit on a very cost control contract) if Giannis ends up with the Nets. He's already 26 so he does not really interest a (future) rebuilding team and he would make Williams available (thanks to the Lakers to rehab his value during their PO). Bucks will need picks, it could be done for a relative fair deal (incl. Williams). He played most of the games during his last 3 seasons.

Now that Bridges has restored some value, considering his good contract, i think it would be more than wise to trade him (for a young prospect or for a wing upgrade)

Charlotte will have good picks and some salaries to pay, flexibility remains the key in order to (finally) build a competitive roster. Miller's extension is coming 'soon', it would be nice to shake this roster quite a bit (while giving a chance for Ball/Miller + 2025th lottery pick to finally carry 'their' team to a good play off run)

Boston reportedly looking to cut salary this off-season. I think Brown/Tatum are safe but anyone else is available.

I would take Derrick White in a heartbeat.

Maybe we can get something done around Nurkic expiring and a future 1st for White.

Nurkic/NSJ/1st for White

Imagine walking away with Flagg/White this off-season

Melo
White
Miller
Flagg
Mark

Bridges 6th man

get me prichard for backup point guard spot - At the very least he can't drop 30 points every time he plays against us.

Pritchard is signed on a friendly contract I think they keep him. I hope mann is our Pritchard, we sign him to a reasonable deal and he comes back as a deadly 6th man who seems like a bargain.

I think it's Jew Holiday they really want to trade away.

Hornets get unlucky, land pick #4. We draft VJ Edgecombe as a good player but likely not a star player/needle mover.

We then trade Mavs 2027 1st, 2027 Heat first, Mark Williams, Nurkic and Josh Green for Domantas Sabonis.

In the 2nd round we select Ryan Kalkbrenner with 33rd pick, Dink Pate with pick 34.

LaMelo- Mann
Valdez Jr- Smith Jr
Miller- Salaun - Dink
Miles- Grant
Sabonis- Kalkbrenner- Moussa

Would still own all of our own future picks, plus a 26 first via Nurkic deal.

I'm all for Sabonis, but we would have to put some defenders around him. He plays no defense at all.

I would prefer a Bam if given the choice.

Jrue would probably want to stay with a contender, but I would not be against getting him here to help teach this team how to win.

he is still a great defender, extra ball handler and strong as an ox

He’s talking about Givony’s ESPN+ write up on the lottery team’s odds, specifically the Hornet’s likely pick if they end up third. It’s nothing more than the usual innocuous speculation. Their top 4 for each team is Flagg, Harper, Bailey, Edgecombe.

Here’s my draft trade scenario question ahead of knowing where we will pick:

If we drop to 5th through 7th, do we trade back in the draft for a lower pick plus assets? If so who should we target?

As disgusting as that would be, I’d probably keep the pick and get BPA. The late lottery and mid round will be very hard to predict. Would love to get Rasheer Fleming or perhaps Carter Bryant, but they could go anywhere from mid 20’s to as high as late lottery.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I'm the biggest Miller fan on the board, but I would seriously consider trading him for Jaylen Brown.

I feel Brown is low-key Boston best player, but they want to force Tatum to be the guy. Him playing off LaMelo would be an awesome duo. He also brings championship experience and has a connection with Coach Lee already.

Anyone behind the buzzbeat paywall yet?

They have kuminga listed as top trade target for us. Curious to know the logic.
Not dying to add another nonshooter as a starter to the mix

I still like the idea of trading for Paul George and that Sixers lottery pick.

Imagine a scenario we come away with a Flagg or Harper with our own pick and possibly a chance at another top 7 prospect.

Sixers aren't giving up a lottery pick just to move off Paul George one year after signing him. Daryl Morey is going to be contending for his life this season.

We have the 5th most draft assets in the NBA, 10 future firsts in the next 7 drafts. I would prefer to find a trade where we aren't giving away our #2 pick who has been good.

Jaylen Brown contract is also massive.

Portland fan here.
Since yall have both the 33 & 34 picks in the draft - what would it take to get #34 from you?

Id say we'd be trying to use those 2 picks to move up into the late first round
