I feel podz, Moody, post need to run 10K before each practice or shootaround. They need to understand thier body dynamics when are fully warmed up and when tired.

and they "SHOULD" be complimentary players, right? One an athletic marvel, excelling at attacking the rim, and getting to the line while the other is a protypical 3&D wing with a high floor, high IQ, and steady play on both ends. It's like the weirdest zero-sum game, instead, where the two of them can never add up to anything >1.

This is called player's development. Nesmsith played the same amount of minutes in first two seasons in Indiana like Moody in 4 seasons. He shooted 3P on .278 in last year playoffs, but played 33min on avg - this is call trust and this how you develop young players. Kerr took starting role from Moody after two PO games, took out of rotation after couple more games...end of story of Kerr development. Young players have no trust, even for veterans its hard to play in this kind of environment, dont even talk about young prospects...

I think we’re going to see another leap from Moses next year. I think he’s finally found his role on the team with Wiggins gone and he now knows what he needs to do to get minutes. Poa defender and take 3s. I think seeing Sengun on him really threw him off mentally. He just needs to let it fly. He’ll also need to continue to work on beating close outs but that will come once he takes more 3s.

The problem will be if jk is still on the team then jk will take his spot and then moody will be in limbo again. It’s funny that we need moody to be more aggressive while scaling back jk’s usage.

this is an indictment on our "youngsters" like moody but also kuminga and to some extent even podz. at some point, it's on the individual player to work on his game and improve. and in 2025, shooting and shooting the 3 ball decently when you are a guard/wing player should be the norm. lots of young players who have been around the league not that long can shoot the 3ball better and more consistently than our youngsters. the excuses for them should be over, either they get their shooting to a decent level or have their asses traded quickly.

Nesmith shot like 50% in college or something crazy.

Podz increased his 3s from 3.2 to 4.8 3pa and was able to maintain his shooting efficiency from 3 for the most part. He just needs to have more confidence to let it fly more frequently. He helped win a game in the rockets series as a 2nd year player, he's going to be fine, he's just young.

MM went from 3 to 4.6 3pa and maintained his efficiency as well. He just needs more confidence to let it fly. It really kind of depends on if JK is back if MM gets a longer leash since 30 mpg for jimmy, 20 mpg for dray (at least 10 will be at center), 30 mpg for jk. That's 80/96 mpg for the 3/4 spot

Yeah I don't know what Nesmith was like when drafted. Most of the talk was about his shooting, which was over 50% from 3 in his last year in college.

But he wasn't long enough so people thought he might be a one-dimensional player?

Yet when the Celtics traded him, he became a physical, aggressive defender with the Pacers and his shooting was almost relegated.

But obviously he got drafted for his shooting and he hasn't shown it until this game.


Those shots, he got off quickly and just rose over contest, something which Moody hasn't shown that he can do.

Nesmith is strong and willing and able to take on bigger players, at least sometimes, like trying to defend Giannis.

Nesmith is also 25. Moody turns 23 on May 31. We shouldn't be so fast to dump guys this young. If there's a good trade, I'm all for it. But there's still a good chance Moody is a very useful role player on his next contract. He had a very bad slump at the end of the season. It happens. But let's not forget how good he looked for like 2-3 months. Hopefully he can get over whatever issues he's having if he returns here.

I think he also really needs to work on attacking closeouts. It's something he can do, he just needs to believe he can do it.

This times a thousand. His shot is never going to be lightning quick which means he has to be able to put the ball on the deck and get into the paint and attack the bucket, shoot a floater or midrange jumper or make a pass to a shooter.

As it is, when he does dribble into the paint, all the defenders just look at him like, "Now what are you going to do?" At this point, he has no answers.

Sucks he was hurt but gives me more hope it wasn't all the yips. Still not sure when he hurt it considering he put up 25 on Hou in minutes that didn't matter only to go back to airballing 4 ft floaters.
