They’re a really good defensive team. They’re making it really difficult. Especially for Brunson.

Yeah, they’ve got great perimeter defenders in Holiday and White, solid defenders in Brown and Tatum, and very good interior defense in Horford, Porzingis, and Kornet. Horford can even step out and defend the perimeter at his age.

To beat them we gotta make the game ugly. Gotta defend the 3pt line and force them to take more 2’s.

I’d start Mitch next to Towns and bring Hart off the bench. Own the boards. Play physical. Make them use the B!tch-A-Mitch strategy and get into the penalty early. While accumulating fouls among their starters. Sending Mitch to the foul line also disrupts game flow, which is crucial for 3pt shooters. Keep them out of rhythm.

Defensively, Mitch is solid on switches and has the length to defend smalls and contest shots on the perimeter.

Yep. We have to beat them with defense. It’s what we did in the first two games. People say they just missed shots but we made them more uncomfortable. We’ll see if we do better tomorrow.

While it is fair to say we did not look like future champions yesterday, it is also fair to say there are no great teams in today's NBA.

There is not one team playing today that would not get dusted by all of the great teams of the past.

Which goes to say: in today's era losing one game in a series does not indicate the outcome. Every team in today's NBA suffers letdowns on any given day.

Being up 2-1 is still a reason to believe good things can happen. It is not a statement of confidence, because I'm never truly confident about this team. But when they play well they can beat any team in the NBA.

It's amazing how the sky is falling after a loss, they were hot and hit 3's, but this but that idgaf. We are still up 2-1, all it takes is some effort, early on game 3 they missed some gummies that would have kept it close. They will come out with urgency game 4 and will prevail to a 3-1 lead, everyone chill.

i have concerns about the continuity and north-south without hart to start, but i understand the benefits.

I do like Mitch to start because that counters the hack a mitch, they aren't going to come out and foul him 5x the first few min to get him to the line but if he comes in with 6 min left and fouls left until the penalty it'll start. That adjustment will do wonders. Run them off the 3 point line have them make 2's and for the love of god take and hit your 3's, we can and will win game 4 because everyone expects otherwise yet again.

We’re +25 on the series with the double big lineup, per KFS. Start Mitch!!!

Don't do anything. This team is built to not adjust, and only win through the other team imploding, and our players giving max effort and breaking ****. There is no scheme, there is no plan, there is no strategy, it's just an orc king repeating coaching truisms like:

"Every Possession counts, it's the playoffs." - Architect of a 13 Point Quarter
"You play the full 48 minutes." - Man who plays his starters basically 48 minutes

I just hope Thibs starts Mitch and brings Hart off the bench. It's the only real adjustment to make beyond telling the starters to "play better"

This is the move to make especially with Mitch at the line. Starters have not looked good together. We need to adjust

but...

This is now 3 games where we've gone down BIG to this team, and the first two can easily be chalked up to luck with 3 point shooting from the Cs, though I think we played great defense in game 2 and boston made some really dumb decisions.

But if they start hitting 3s and a 40% clip we are cooked. I pray that we get up hard on shooters and Mitch can make a difference at the rim in the next game.

Going back 2-2 to Boston is not a good spot to be in. we gotta get game 4.

as ghostface said, “we gotta get ‘em, baby.”

we were amazingly flat on our rotations. whatever life and death urgency boston brought to game 3 needs to be recognized and matched.

we heard from our players that they are disappointed in themselves on this front. for one, I’d like to see us revisit an extension of the good quarters that I imagine influenced the bad shooting.

those shots were going in early even in the losses. improved execution, dogged intensity, respecting the margin for error, etc. probably helped us get that good fortune portion.

if they learned from games 1-3, I expect this to be a major component of the discussion. the guard JB seems to be on that. (the conversation being how do we play like that for more of the game.)

some early guard hour building.

happy Mother’s Day, everyone. if you got moms in your life, try to enjoy today as we lock back in for trench warfare tomorrow.

Your music taste is impeccable
