Which players would you target at those 3 positions?
I think any all-star caliber player that is a clear upgrade at one of those positions should be considered. I’m not saying these players are available or even specific targets, but I think of Trae Young being an underrated floor general at point, or a massive defensive upgrade that is competent at offense in Derrick White if Celtics wanted some picks while avoiding luxury tax (we’d have to overpay to convince them obviously). At SG I think of Devin Booker as an all-star level player that could become available, or again if Celtics are desperate for savings as some have speculated, Jaylen Brown. Sabonis has been speculated to be available at C after the Kings moved Fox. Again, it all depends on who becomes available, when, and what package is wanted for them. Forward could be upgraded if something crazy somehow became available, but I’m not convinced moving Camara to the bench in favor of Lauri and giving up assets that are means of upgrading other positions is a good move for the franchise.
Good to know about players you think the Blazers would covet, I will likely pursue that avenue in the future.
Regarding moving Camara to the bench, Camara started next to Grant, why can't Camara start with Lauri in place? Who are your expected starters this year?
Deni and Camara should be full time starters this year, with Grant off the bench if he is still on the team. They at times all started due to players playing out of position when others were injured or Billups was penalizing players for poor defense (Sharpe).
Most Blazers fans I know are ready to throw Scoot in as a starter to let him sink or swim. So the preferred long term lineup is Scoot, Sharpe, Deni, Camara, Clingan, but more likely Billups still starts Simons over Scoot and Ayton over Clingan barring a move.
