Huge difference.

Pacers/Bucks is actually a great contrast when it comes to coaching.

This Pacers team is good, but they are better than they should be because they are very well coached.

The Bucks with Giannis aren't as good as they should be because they are very poorly coached.

I've been high on this Pacers team for a few months, but swap Carlisle for Doc and this Pacers team wouldn't sniff the 2nd round.

Cleveland should just quit the rest of the game. The largest 2nd half comeback in NBA history is 36 pts, in the playoffs 31. Pacers are up 41.

This makes the Bucks look not as far away. But we have to remember what we did against the top 3 in the east too.

Contract year Myles Turner is a great player I guess.

Coaching doesn’t matter as much as ppl think imo. I mean Denver fired Malone like a week before the playoffs and haven’t missed a beat. Memphis still sucked the way they were previously sucking after Jenkins left. And the Cavs don’t really look that much better than they did last year.

Oh and the Bucks are still first round fodder.

Coaching matters at the margins but talent in the playing ranks is so much more important.

If the Bucks swapped coaches with the Pacers, who wins the series? I honestly don't know.

Bucks, easily.

Hell, the Bucks would have probably beat the Pacers with Doc if Doc had simply just played common sense lineups in the first 4 games.

I mean... what do you even do with the Pacers at this point?

Guard them close, they'll drive past you and you'll scramble to stop a great shot.
Give them space, they'll shoot you out of the gym or you'll watch TJ Mcconnell dribble under the hoop for a circus layup.
Setting screens on offense? They'll just flop their way around 80% of them
They switch 1-5 where even their weakest matchup can still guard 1on1.
Their 30% 3PT shooters? Yeah they'll shoot almost double that percentage in the playoffs.

He put up better #'s in the playoffs last year. Has he just been signing 1 yr contracts every season?

It’s funny that for all the **** Boston and Indy copped last year about having soft runs to the ECF (which they did) it turns out a year later they likely are the best teams in the East.

I would still bet a lot of money on the Pacers falling apart and losing to the Celtics in 4 or 5 games in the conference finals.

The Pacers are good and I have been on their bandwagon for a few months now.

But I still think they're a team that will fold once they play a team that isn't soft and they can't just bully.

The Bucks and Cavs are soft teams. Pacers are going to meet their match when they finally play a team that punches back and won't be rattled by their bully tactics. Might be the 1 scenario out of 1000 where I root for the Celtics....lol

Can Mobley ever be a guy who can carry the scoring load night to night? Think the Cavs need to find that out next season.

The crazy part about this whole thing is if Doc had done what 99.9% of the people on this board would have done line-up wise from game 1, the Bucks probably beat this Pacers team in 6.

I will continue to stand firm 100% on the Bucks instantly becoming the 3rd best team in the east if they made zero roster changes and simply just replaced Doc with with someone who can actually coach.

He certainly didn't have his team ready to play a critical game. He gets credit when his team plays well (deservedly) then he should get blasted for tonight (also deservedly).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

They have an excellent guy in Pritchard running things. Guy just understands how to get good players. Wish we had that here.

The Cavs shouldn't lose like this.

But Atkinson is kind of a victim of his own success. The Cavs are a 50 win team that overachieved and won 64 games because they are incredibility well coached.

That is going to catch up with you in the playoffs when you are playing the top teams every night.

To go 64-18 without an MVP candidate is pretty insane. But fair or not, with a 64-18 record is going to come high expectations and when you lose like this in the 2nd round to a 48 win team, it's not going to be a good look.

I think can and will are two different things. He has the skills but I don't think it's in his mindset. Feels like it's always kinda been his MO. Not that he's lazy, obviously, but just that it's not his mentality.

Idk about that

Giannis is amazing but we have a massive 2-7 problem compared to the other top teams.

Agreed, I think we could've made the 2nd round with a different coach, maybe ECF (not likely), but we just have too many issues outside of Giannis right now.
