GT: Celtics @ Knicks, Game 4 Monday 7:30pm ET

Post#1 » by The KnicksFix » Mon May 12, 2025 6:12 am

They say styles make fights, well it ain’t over. I didn’t hear no damn bell. We brought the fight to them in the first couple rounds, we’re now entering the middle rounds, and though the champs fought back, we took their best blow and are about to administer the left hook to the body in this game, before the right before the right hook to the head knockout blow.

This is the biggest game thread of the year. This is THE game, this is OUR game for the taking. Play confident, play hungry. Scared money don’t make money. Silence the haters, silence the doubters

Keys to the game:
- Bring the urgency, bring the intensity from Tip-off, punch them in the mouth before they can react
- PRESSURE DEFENSE. Make them feel you all 48 minutes, no easy buckets and no easy 3’s, RUN THEM OFF THE LINE
- Play up on the switches, no more damn drop coverage period. Switch everything if you must. No more hedge and recover
- I need an all time game from KAT, a monster 30+ point night with double digit rebounds, but above all else, his defense needs to make them pay when they try to target him on switches. NO MORE DROP.
- Wake up the wings. OG and Mikal need to give us an all time game on both ends, I need the defensive intensity with 20+ ppg each
- Deuce. Give me pressure defense and knock down your shots. Give me a 15-20 point night
- Hart, hit your damn shots and keep rebounding. Keep the hustle up
- Mitch, have some damn confidence and make some free throws, keep the defense up, keep rebounding
- Jalen Brunson. This is arguably the biggest game of your career in a Knick uniform thus far. Get them into foul trouble early. Go show the world, why you are the king of NY. Ice in your veins, and orange and blue in your heart.

This is our Game 7. The clock starts now. WIN THE GODDAMN GAME
AWAKEN THE GHOSTS OF GARDEN PAST. BRING THE PAIN OF MASON, OF OAKLEY, the bully ball of X-man, the underdog and gritty play style of Spree, Camby, LJ, Houston and Ward.

The OG, our Captain, better known as reincarnation of the black KAT, crossed many Bridges, to awaken the Hart of the city!!

Go win this game for the Knick faithful who bleed Orange and Blue. Let the garden floor shake.
THERE IS NO TOMORROW. BELIEVE.
WIN. THE. GAME!!

Can we please change the starting lineup?

Macri on KFS just mentioned our starting lineup this series has an offensive rating if 59 ppg.
Swap out Hart for Mitch and it’s 113ppg.

Great video. They mention so many things we can change to improve.

They shot 63% from 3 in the first half and that’s how they won the game. We shot 17% from 3. Second half they were 38% and we were 23% yet we outscored them by 3. They won the game off a hot half.

Now let’s look at the rest of their 3 pt shooting halves this series. Game 1: 22% and 27%, Game 2: 24% and 26%

Yet you’re telling me it’s more likely they have another 60% half than a 20% half? Because if they aren’t shooting 50%+ in a half the game is ours. We’ve demonstrated that throughout the series.

Not even talking about the Celtics, even if WE have a good shooting half it’s over for them. Series is in thibs hands. It seems like everyone else knows what should be done but let’s see if he can break free of his stubbornness

yeah, it's crazy but the minutes with mitch make the defense better but it also makes the offense much better. weird for a guy who doesn't really score. must be the 2nd chance points

WTF, the OP says KAT, OG and Mikal all need to have “all-time” games and that this is the biggest game of Brunsons career. That’s all a bit too much.

Our guy's always been undervalued. Not by title winner Mazzula though, but by most Knicks fans. The impact on the boards is huge. I think Boston also adjust preemptively to his crashing the offensive glass, which leaves some space on the perimeter.

Mitch sets better screens. Don't know why KAT has issues with it. Helps free up JB. It's why Josh sets screens for JB since the center is on him.

Like saying "Grace" before a Thanksgiving meal, we should all take a moment to remember ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL those lean years right up through Fizdale where even to be in this position concerned about the 4th game in a second round series was merely a fevered dream in the middle of a nightmare. Thank you, Leon and and the Front Office (and I'll even throw in Dolan for not messing with them).

pressure them, OG has to fight around the screen, KAT needs to step up on the screen and take away the 3. that little midget 6th man, if hes going to play heavy minutes, go at him on the defensive end, make him work on that end of the court. If we make things A LITTLE tough for them and start the game off a little hot, the crowd alone will carry it to a bigger lead. We will get this W

Having a guy in the dunkers spot who is actually a lob threat and defends the paint makes a world of difference over an undersized wing who can't space and isn't a threat at the rim.

Josh with the starters is 4 v 5 basketball and Josh's man can roam freely. You can't do that with Mitch or it's a dunk every time.

OP asking for both 20pts from OG and Mikal is unrealistic based on how we play offense but I agree with the urgency behind their post.

If this team plays like they played yesterday and to an extension games 1 and 2, we will lose.

Allowing Boston to shoot 63% from 3 is asinine. Not hard switching to ensure the 3 is contested is asinine. Doubling Jaylen Brown in the paint to allow open threes is asinine. The entire approach to game 3 was so bad that this is literally our game 7 now. The Knicks have to play a damn near perfect game tonight.

When the Knicks have 25+ assists in a game, they are near impossible to defeat. The ball is moving, players are moving, less stagnant ISO ball. I want to see two things tonight. 1 - the ball whipping around with lots of off player movement. 2 - no drop coverage with very physical switching. Get up in their comfort zones, suffocate them. Tatum and Brown do not like to be manhandled.

I expect a close game tonight with the Knicks prevailing at the end. I don't foresee any big double digit leads by either team.

Mitch had 3 fouls in 7 minutes last game. If Mitch starts, we have to commit to about 15-20 Precious minutes
