Kirk potentially concussed right when the bat is coming around, unfortunate

I am generally pro analytics. But this particular analytical based strategy is dumb. Its based on pitchers performance being totally homogenous from game to game. Which is stupid -- if it were the case we would just let a good starter pitch to his pitch limit every game.
This FO has been doing this since they pulled Shoemaker in the 2020 WC game after 3 dominant innings; they don’t care about in-game context

Great bounce back season from Springer.

Springer is the team's MVP so far. Good for George, perhaps an indictment against a few others.

Kirk will be a massive loss if he’s out for any extended period of time

Well, that was unexpected. A sweep of a pretty good team in Seattle and away from the Rogers Centre. Could this be where we turn things around this season?

I have not watched since Hoffman choked away the lead in Los Angeles in Game 2, and made me sick to my stomach watching this team. Maybe I am the good luck charm by not watching (lol). Just checking the box score and highlights on Twitter the last couple of days. It is not a coincidence that this team is playing well with Gimenez and Santander on the bench injured.
Who cares how much they are making. Keep those two guys on the bench for an extended time; and keep riding guys like Barger, Clement, Lukes, and Straw in the lineup instead of Santander and Gimenez who have been terrible overall offensively this year. They got a good rhythm going now. No need to disrupt things. I was not a fan of acquiring Gimenez and Santander anyways. Give them extended rest for now.

The bottom of the lineup started hitting in that Angels series. I thought they’d get some offence going for this series the only surprise was Bowden Francis. They were 3.5 gb of 1st when everyone was fighting depression im optimistic about the rest of May.

The bottom of the lineup hit nowhere as well as they did in the Seattle series than they did with the Angels, just looking at the box scores right now. Say what you want, but this team performed really well with Santander and Gimenez parked on the bench in this Seattle series. Give those two guys extended rest for now.

At this stage you can't keep Barger out of the lineup.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

let alone the cleaup spot lol - after 1 week, things have changed for Barger
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.

What you have suggested is the opposite of what will happen. Too much FO ego with the trades/signings and that old adage of 'duh well, the high paid players have to earn their money'.
It's not to say that those guys are going to have good seasons but I like the idea of playing them. And of course, Spencer Horwitz's bat would have been a welcome part of this young mix.

Are we ever gonna see someone resembling 2021 Guerrero jr ever again? Honestly, we’d be winning more games if he was mashing… it seems when we win it’s always the bottom of the order and support players doing the heavy lifting…
I look at Aaron judge numbers and I’m jealous. I thought vlad was supposed to be the generational one.

If you are expecting Vlad to be one of the 5-10 greatest hitters of all time at this point, yeah it might be time to adjust your expectations.
