john collins sounds interesting but i'm not up to date on what he is capable of these days.

malcom brogdon also. funny how doc could've/should've drafted him all those years ago. we might finally get our guy (again!)

it's too bad about amir. he got hurt and never got back to being anything helpful for us. he's steadily gone from summer league guy to decent utility piece in a pinch and it's been nice to see him be a thing.

seems like the team's basically saying "if we pick up a bit more dependable talent, and also ensure we have a more reliable backup ballhandler, we can still make something happen."

that said, i really hate the way speculation like this is the new thing. feels like it started with jake fischer years ago on "well here's what an anonymous GM MIGHT THINK COULD happen" passing it off as sorta credible info. and now it's come to this, unfortunately (like many other things in the world, i suppose).

Ben Simmons.. as much as I like his floor game and defensive versatility, just doesn't bring anything scoring wise, just about always. If he finally starts to get adequate shot range out to 3P, then were talking.. but I don't think so. That said, I wouldn't mind Simmons if he's back to play the same kind of role in regular season, then spot minutes in POs.

All in for John Collins and Brogdon. Zubac and Collins is a complimentary frontcourt on both ends, and physical tools wise.

Also all in for Zubac taking occasional three pointers to throw teams off : )

Saddiq Bey, definitely would be a good guy to bring in.. with Simmons and Coffey probably on the way out.

Need a reliable backup C for Zubac. Not oversized SFs playing C (past small ball situations), please... can do better than Eubanks.. don't dislike him, just can do better than him as the first actual C-sizable big off the bench.

2027 summer FA is also includes Giannis, Jokic and Mitchell next to Shai.

I think they will extend Harden with another 1+1 through 2027 summer and put the words out every agent 2027 is the year to sign with Clippers.

can you still sign two max FA's in a single FA with the current version of the CBA? who would we even have on the roster at that point?

In a scenario they extend HArden with 1+1 and Norm with one year through 2027 summer when all hits reset.

Lets leave annually 70 million USD for max slot in 2027 Summer (Cap Max 187 M USD) so 35% of that makes all-nba level FA signee.
Max Slot(Giannis or Jokic) 70 M USD
Max Slot(One of SGA or Mitchell) 70 M USD
Zubac - 21 M USD
C.Christie 2,5 M USD (Team Option)
Pick #30 2025 Draft 2.6 M USD
2025 Summer MLE Signee - 14 M USD ( someone like Yabusele or Aldama?)
1st rd Pick 2027 Draft (swapped with OKC so likely #28-20)
rest will be like 7 another minimum signings or 2nd rd picks and one room exception around 5 M USD annually

We could have a roster like SGA-C.Christie-2025Pick30-Giannis-Zubac with Aldama on the bench.

Though during 2026-27 season, maybe trading Zu for wing depth might be a better option down the road if Cam or 2025 #30 pick turned out to be another misses.

how much could we throw at steven adams, btw? feels reasonable to imagine a different outcome in the first round if one of dunn/bogi/powell were replaced by a steven adams.

he would be useful- but I think a big that provides something more different than Zubac would be helpful- somebody that can stretch the floor like Portis or Lopez while also playing decent defense

Brogdon plays like 40 games/season

Disgusting! Typical Clipper bullsh*t where you have to look good on another team before we take an actual interest and liking to you. God forbid you play well and show infinite potential as a rookie under our tutelage. Are we going to stalk him to death like how we did Kawhi when he was in Toronto?

He's not leaving OKC anyway, at least not as a free agent for nothing, so it's all BS anyway. All Frank can do anymore is spew a bunch of hot air - "we're getting younger and more athletic for real this time," "we're signing every superstar in 2027" - to distract from his years of horrible moves and ineptitude at building a team.

This one is especially humiliating because he's implicitly admitting that he screwed up with the PG trade, but Ballmer still won't fire him.

There's actually nothing wrong with saying you messed up in hindsight, and I'm not sure how many times we have to remind ourselves that Ballmer pushed for this trade, so Ballmer has no logic reason to fire any of these guys based on the results in hindsight.

If it was a case where they convinced Ballmer despite him not wanting to do it, and it was some reluctant move, then yea, that's different, but that's not what happened.

yeah this is a part of why i hate the speculation business that seems to be growing more and more in sports media.

they literally didn't even have to pass it off as coming from legitimate sources and it gets people off their chairs.

True, but trying to double back to SGA is straight from the scrolls of Lawrence Frank's method of operation and playbook. It's getting people off their rocker because we all know that's how this front office gets down. It's speculation, but also L. Frank to a tee.

This is the kind of thing you can peak your head into and hope:

The two-time NBA MVP has not made any firm decisions on his Bucks future after the franchise's third consecutive postseason exit in the first round, but, for the first time in his career, Antetokounmpo is open-minded about exploring whether his best long-term fit is remaining in Milwaukee or playing elsewhere, league sources told ESPN.

Just offer them Kawhi and a few other pieces- fairly comparable to offering AD for Luka :banghead:

It’s all speculative. It can be fun and frustrating.

One of Kawhi’s biggest fans (Jamal) and he does have some sources. Still. He hasn’t corrected anyone yet. Something to chew on anyway. He posted some other tweets of Kawhi Spurs talking full circle. Weird thing to put out there.
