If this was real, it would have been a Haynes Brief. Instead it's just a Shams Stain.

He didn't say anything wrong here.

I didn't say he was wrong for what he said. Just how excited these people have been waiting for this moment. It's weird and obsessive at this point.

OKC seems like the only team with assets that would be worth getting. And even then it would be crazy to not walk out of that deal getting Chet, Jwill and a few picks.

As with a lot of the other teams being discussed, Houston is interesting IF they win the lotto.

That being said, Amen is as good a non Flagg centerpiece centric deal I've seen.

Oh, I don't disagree. The league media has been dying to get Giannis out of Milwaukee. That they haven't been able to up to this point is something I relish.

German Athens wrote:It’s amusing to me when a warriors fan comes to this board asking about Giannis, stating how we’ve had 3 first round exits, and asking a bunch of loaded questions.

We’ve witnessed the Warriors not make the playoffs in consecutive years, then follow that up by winning a title on the back of an all-timer. Two seasons later miss the playoffs again, be under .500 mid way through the following year, trade a solid player and 1 1st, and completely change the trajectory of their team.

They should know better than most how quickly things can change. Don't bring that disingenuous BS here.

Exactly. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Also buried in this extreme desire to get Giannis out of Milwaukee is the inherent admission that Giannis is the best player in the NBA. This is something the national media will never admit because him winning another MVP just doesn’t fit their narrative. Nevertheless, they’d never be this hyped about a player potentially leaving MKE if they didn’t think he’s the best out there. If Giannis ever goes to one of their golden franchises (GSW, NYK, etc), watch them immediately call him the best player in the world.

Yet none of this really upsets me. Giannis has been open minded in every single offseason where we failed to advance far into the playoffs or when his contract was expiring in the near future. So far he’s always been loyal. The Windy and Shams types were saying he’d leave many times in previous offseasons as well.

I think it’s clear that no one knows what Giannis will decide, and also that the Bucks will not trade him without a clear trade request from Giannis directly. Knowing Giannis as we know him, he’s not one to be swayed by the national media circus. If he wants to win here, there is a path forward, but he has to know that it might take a few seasons, and that it starts with firing Doc and hiring a proper head coach.

Maybe these kind of stories will push the owners to upgrade Doc. Let’s see.

Would immediately re-route Green for other picks or another young player in any Houston trade.

Picks preferred in any Giannis deal. Lots of lottery picks

It would be cruel to waste the rest of Giannis' prime on a team going absolutely nowhere

It may seem cruel to ban trolls from RealGM, but it'd probably be for the best. They're nothing but agitators who don't contribute to the discussion.

Was it cruel when Philly or Golden State or Dallas or the Lakers did it with their franchise superstars? No, and it’s not cruel now.

A lot can change in a few seasons. The Warriors looked finished multiple times and still won a championship with Steph in a resurgence year. The Bucks aren’t stupid, they’re not going to trade Giannis just because you and the media think “it’s time”. **** that.

I actually agree that it would be cruel to waste the rest of Giannis prime. So instead of throwing around trade ideas where Giannis has to go elsewhere and start over from scratch, let's all throw around more trades to give Giannis the team he deserves in Milwaukee.

Giannis is a smart guy. He has to be introspective and realize that part of the reason they lost in the first round 2 of the past 3 years was because he was injured. The Bucks do finally have some tools to do more than sign guys to the minimum, so bring him into the process, have him pick mid level guys he's interested in, sign Thanasis to a bench spot and Brook to a vet min, and then figure out next summer how they can get back to competing... and they can even get a new coach then too I guess.

Say we trade for the first pick in this draft, how long before everyone wants him moved out of Milwaukee. If we trade Giannis there is no point in being a fan any more.

This assumes you could re-route him for other picks or young players. I'm not convinced he has positive trade value.

Just sign Thanasis and Kostas. Dame getting hurt sucks but I don’t think it should change things that much trajectory wise especially if KPJ is retained. In a couple seasons there will be more movable assets that can be packaged for another run.

Meanwhile the media & vulture fans who are desperate for Giannis to go to their team thinks it's going to cost nobody in their big 2-3, nor big prospect, or premium pick. It's going to be 1 low-level starter, a decent prospect, & a few random picks. Total illogic.
