Him & Wemby is exactly the type of move that both fits Giannis and the league.

Oklahoma has one of the lowest tax burdens in the country as well (not as low as Texas, but close). They also have by far the best team for him to play on and can put together the best package.

Ya I don't think we'll get him sadly. And tbh that's fine, we aren't there yet.

Depending on the lottery results and what kind of risk we’re willing to take (eg. moving RJ, IQ or Scottie) I think we can make a trade with the Pelicans for their Milwaukee firsts work.

As mentioned by Windy, Houston and San Antonio make sense. Of course, so does OKC. I don’t like Brooklyn and we have better players.

If nothing else, I’d be happy to get some solid pieces to facilitate a trade as a third or fourth team.
I believe in Masai.

It would be interesting to see Giannis in Orlando. They have the players to make something happen with a third team.

As for Miami, no thanks. Here’s hoping he’s out of the East if he’s not on the Raps.

Brooklyn is interesting because they have enough draft capital to essentially get the Bucks’ picks back from either the Pelicans or Blazers. If they jump up in the lottery they basically have all the ingredients to make a crazy offer, even if their only positive players are Cam Johnson, Claxton and Cam Thomas (questionable if he’s positive).

Seems kind of unfair that teams can offer more money via their tax location, its enough dealing with weather/culture of certain cities, taxes shouldnt hold them back. Teams that are taxed should have an exemption to overpay so the player gets the same dollar amount as another max-offering non-taxed team. This overpay shouldnt be counted against the cap for its full worth, just whatever the player is paid would be counted against the cap. Still would make it more expensive but would allow a more competitive market for taxed teams

Lopez is a FA

Kuzma has negative value and would need assets attached

Lillard probably isn't tradeable either and would need assets attached as well if a team is even willing to take that contract on

They can't tank without their own picks back. That's the big problem.

Only way Giannis makes it to Toronto is if Giannis himself asks the Bucks' FO to deal with Masai. Otherwise, there will be other teams that can offer more than us.

you're all too pessimistic. If he wants to come to Toronto they will trade him to Toronto. Barnes, walter, #9, and a couple firsts and couple swaps does it. Doesn't matter how much more OKC or Houston can give. The difference isn't much. OKC's top player in the deal would be Jalen Williams and Houston's is Jalen Green. That's not much difference with Barnes.

Same reason other top talent leave Canada for elsewhere.... Canada is over taxed, over regulated, and cold --- doctors, top tech talent, entrepreneurs have been leaving top schools in Canada for USA and elsewhere... at record levels... or relocating out of Canada. fact.

Giannis will be headed to Texas. Why would he come to Toronto?
