Even we dont win the lottery, we would have landed 5-6 at worst if we tanked and traded properly. Now, you have the 9th pick and you have no all-star or future.

Anyone saw the NHL draft lottery last week? They actually had the ping pong balls drawn live on the broadcast for the first time instead of behind closed doors. It was still crazy to see the New York Islanders move up 9 spots from 10 to 1 and Utah Mammoth moving up 10 spots from 14 to 4.

Meanwhile, NBA one-ups them by moving the Mavs up 10 spots from 11 to 1 when they did that ridiculous Luka trade. You can't blame anyone for calling this crap rigged.

the realistic take is that after you get past top 3 or 4, there's alot of similar talents that nobody can predict how they develop at the next level. there's no sugar coating.
