I see. So you believe the NBA, a multi-billion-dollar industry, is risking all of its credibility and future so that they can ensure Cooper Flagg goes to the Dallas Mavericks.

You're right. I get it now.

Yea i really don't think it's rigged. 2019 lottery featured the Bulls, Knicks and Lakers. Zion went to New Orleans and Ja went to Memphis

Exactly. And those two were much better prospects. So why did the NBA force them to their two smallest markets? Doesn't make sense.

The NBA used to air their drawing too and then everyone created conspiracy theories about bent envelopes. The NBA does their lottery in front of media from every NBA team so if they are rigging it now then airing it with the same process won’t stop people from claiming it’s rigged.

You can almost always create a conspiracy theory around why a team won the lottery. Correlation does not equal causation.

Not necessarily, no. It took five years, for example, for the fact that US and German intelligence services had concluded that COVID was due to a lab leak. And that is a much larger pool of individuals to leak than the handful involved in the NBA lottery.

I'm not even gonna touch that one, man.

Shouldn’t be anything controversial about what I wrote - has been widely reported.

I’m just playing devils advocate here because I’m on your side but I think the implication is that the NBA wanted another superstar on the Lakers since LeBron is almost done and asked Dallas to make a non-sensical Luka trade in exchange for Flagg. But strange that the Lakers never won a lottery when they were bad for like 7 years in a row before LeBron came

sure i felt bad for Dallas fans but they had Luka for more years then we had Drose with both knees. Looking forward to the Fever to take me away from this misery.

I despise that Nico (that twat), is going to somehow get bailed out. We truly are living in a matrix lol.

Yeah pretty much all bad no matter what you’re thinking and talking about regarding the lottery, lol.

I guess I have to have blind hope that Bulls get another player like Matas with a later lotto pick…not likely.

Spurs are in the drivers seat to acquire Giannis. And to do it while keeping Castle. Before landing at 2…you’d have to think Bucks would ask for Castle….now you package 2/14 plus 2 future firsts and matching salaries, giving away a Vassell/Sochan both, whatever that looks like.

OKC and Rockets could bring heavy packages to the table as well but I just see Spurs with a great shot. Giannis would most likely look at Wemby/Fox/Castle as ready to win now. And they would be. All that is reliant on Wemby having a clean bill of health, which could complicate things massively.

Crazy lottery, dead inside as a bulls fan. Jumping into top 3 was only legit chance for Bulls to have a punchers chance of a deal for Gian but a pipe dream anyway
I hate the Chicago Bulls. I miss Derrick, Jo, Taj, Jimmy, Lu, BG, Kirk, Noc….I’ll stop there.

I'm also not that thrilled with the Spurs getting the #2 pick. They already have Wemby and Castle, plus just traded for Fox.

I do love a good conspiracy theory. But there are some ppl getting too close to the Alex Jones level to be taken serious.

I now want DALLAS GM to be fired so he does not get to make the pick.

I don’t think it’s rigged. But sometimes something happens that so obviously and legitimately feeds conspiracies that it’s best to stay quiet.

Also, I’m fine with this result. I just didn’t want to slip further than 12. There are definitely 12 guys I like and after the top 3-4 I think the next 10 are all very comparable as prospects.

Would prefer to have the most options among those next 10, but very confident there will be 1-2 guys I really like in there available at 12. And it’s possible another excellent talent may slip or we can trade up with a small offering.

For example, I see KJ in some mocks slipping to near our level. I think he has as high a ceiling as all but maybe 3 guys in this draft. Just one example.

In fairness while 14% is better odds than 1.8% - 14% is still not good odds. This is more of yeah tanking isn't goiong to work statemtn made by the league with the odds. Pretty crazy though that they and washington get bumped all the wash to 5-6.
