The only names that jump out at me are Zion and Scottie Barnes. I can’t think of anybody who makes a ton of sense.

Yeah. Whoever he drafts, even if it’s Bailey, you have to roll with it. He’s atleast earned that.

That's the only one I can't get behind

I bet if he drafts him you will

We’re crazy like that. The next T-Mac
always a jump shot away.

Wizards also feel like a prime trade up option.

I don’t know much about him. Is it a talented guy who puts up hollow stats but doesn’t contribute to winning type of thing?

Massively talented in HS. Just settled for difficult shots, couldn’t blow by guys, weak at getting to the rim, didn’t draw fouls, didn’t generate assists, sub 70% FT. Of all the teams, were the best for him to go to but is he the best for us? Not in my opinion.

We don’t have a ton of data on Morey and Brand drafting first rounders, but Morey being the analytics guy, seems like he might not be going this direction. He should still leak that he is interested in Ace, Edgecomb, Trey, to keep some value in the pick for teams to trade up.

Maybe he gets a 2026 first to move back later in the lottery. Insurance in case we lose the pick to OKC, since the odds are highly likely… assuming he doesn’t like the value at three.

I think Morey will go after Zion. Not sure if George or Embiid will be the contract going out, though.

If it's Embiid, you know his knee is cooked.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

I look forward to trading down and drafting Maluach. Would be quite unhappy.

I like Edgecombe too and I think he’d pair really well with Maxey. The combo of shooting, athleticism, and point of attack defense between those two & Grimes is very intriguing. I worry about his health with the way he elevates in traffic without a plan sometimes tho.

This is a very interesting pick imo because the selection could hint at who Morey sees as the long-term lead guard - Maxey or McCain. I hate to pit those two against each other but it will be the inevitable convo for the next year.

I have to trust my eyes, Knueppel / Edgecombe / CMB are the three that I've grown more fond of as the season progressed.

If we're betting on tools and """upside""" it's Maluach over Bailey for me, but this process and the next month+ should be really fun.

God I really started to believe after they announced Charlotte at #4. Still very happy we landed top-3, but man we were so close.

Kneuppel makes sense stats-wise. Morey saying he wants to get more athletic makes me feel he’s not quite on the radar.

I’m thinking the same thing right now. Another name that crossed my mind is KD, but that feels unlikely given his age. Zion’s more realistic, especially since the Pelicans were picking near our range pre-lotto and may have zeroed in on some prospects they value more than we do

I can’t see NO taking Embiid’s contract. $50+ million for four more years and there is no chance he can pass a physical. He has no cushion in his knees and is getting another “trim” to his meniscus. I don’t think they take on either contract. Without a 3rd team, I don’t know if a deal would be possible. PG has three years at over $50+, is 35, and is coming off a horrible season.

Those are two of the worst contracts in the league. It would be tough to find a team to take one of them without being handsomely compensated.

I feel like #3 is that compensation, but I agree it may need to be a 3-team trade.

For the record, I'm torn if I'd want this. Part of me just wants to start fresh with M&M, Grimes, and the pick. My struggle is that I don't believe in Ace or VJ becoming a star-level player.

If I put less weight on upside and focus more on fit, CMB would be my pick.

He’s a guy who complements our guards well, playing a Ben Simmons type role with Embiid; with Maxey, McCain, and Grimes setting inverted screens to open driving lanes for him. He can exploit smaller defenders on switches. A role similar to Evan Mobley or Siakam, both plays with a backcourt driven offense, without Embiid. Defensively, his presence is felt, reminding me of guys like Paul Reed, Tari Eason, or the Thompson twins.

Maxey
Grimes
Paul George
CMB
Embiid

That’s a well-rounded team that can compete in the playoffs at a high level
