Re: 2025 Draft prospects - thread 2
I wrote this in the lottery thread, but it belongs here.
So lets start with the following assumption: In some order, Flagg, Harper, Ace, VJ and Tre Johnson go top 5. That's not a lock, but I'm pretty confident all 5 of those guys can safely be taken off the board for the 12th pick.
So here is who I like of the rest, not in order:
KJ
Kon
Essenge
Fears
Maluach
Demin
CMB
Queen
Bryant
Fleming
Riley
Saraf
That's 12 more guys that I like beyond the consensus top 5. And I like them all more than I like Newell or Richardson.
But I don't like them all equally. The ones that would really excite me would be, in order KJ (I consider him a top 6 talent in this draft), CMB, Maluach and Demin. They all have very unique attributes and, other than Maluach who is raw, the other 3 play with extremely high BB IQs and might be the 3 best passers in the draft. I am putting a high emphasis offensively on shooting (duh) and especially ball movement, creativity, and "doesn't stick in my hands-ness". With Giddey, lets just get out and run with smart guys who share it and see what happens. That's what I want. Run and gun the **** out of it.
Maluach is an exception just because he's unique and guys like him are becoming more important to roster construction. We also have about the worst interior D you are going to find.
We aren't gonna be contenders, but we could think about the game differently and be novel and entertaining. I could live with that until we get a FO interested in patient, sustainable team building.
The ones I'm meh about at 12, even though they made my list, are Saraf, Fleming and Bryant. But again, if any of these guys on my list get their name called at 12, I'm fine with it.

He has a longer wingspan than Newell as well and only 1 inch less on standing reach.
And no offense.
He can't shoot. But, he does everything else solid to well offensively.

Julius Randle: 6'7.75 barefoot, 8'9.5 standing reach, 7'0 wingspan, 249 lbs
Aaron Gordon: 6'7.50 barefoot, 8'9.5 standing reach, 6'11.75 wingspan, 220 lbs
Murray-Boyles is an inch shorter and in between them weight wise, but checks off everywhere else. I think the concern was if the 6'8 mark was accurate, but it more/less is with shoes. I think he can definitely defend 4's at the next level.
I think he's being underrated some. Skilled player with strong two-way upside. Needs to make some strides with the jumper. Big improvement as a playmaker this past season.
He's grown on me tremendously. Now that we are locked in at 12, he's very high on my list of preferred targets. The more I watch his video, the more I love his game.
His BBIQ is off the charts on offense and defense and he played with bad talent.

Re: 2025 Draft prospects - thread 2
Of the guys around our pick gove me CMB, KJ, Maluauch.
The only guy I'm totally out on is Jase Richardson although I don't think Newell's tape or Essengue's tape is all that impressive.
Carter Bryant should go back to school, but if he doesn't, he's a possibility.
The thing I like about CMB and KJ is that they were the man for their teams and mostly performed. That means they were often the primary initiator against set defenses. I haven't seen that from Bryant. Newell he's mostly finishing plays. Essengue's tape is funny bc he's playing in a league that looks like it doesn’t believe in rim protection.

The shot is a concern. We need shooters. But I want ballers. I want unique prospects. We can sign "shooters" in free agency. Every season the NBA gets flooded with more and more of them. Its not a requirement for me depending on the prospect. CMB is one such guy.

Give me Clayton Jr unless someone slides. 6'4 w shoes on - best point guard scorer in draft, can shoot and pass. Underrated cause he is not 6'5 or 6'6 and older

Cedric Coward is a strange one but interesting.

He only played 6 games this year, so it's a small sample size for this year. But last year he put up similar numbers.
He's a bit of an enigma.
Here to argue about nonsensical things and suck away your joy.

This is another guy I'm VERY interested in.
Decent measurements, especially that wingspan.
Would be very happy with him also.

Was hoping Rocco would have a bigger wingspan, especially being 7'3" barefoot. But he's a big unit regardless and would be a great pick in the 2nd round if he's available.

Our pick will arrive to Jase Richardson or Thomas Sorber.

Solid measurements. He could slim down to about 250-255lbs, and maybe he'll look better vertically.

He averaged 20 pts a game on a .630 TS% while having an elite assist to turnover ratio for a power forward. His OBPM was elite for college.
His scoring doesn’t translate.

That's definitely not true. Unless you have a very narrow definition of offense.
He won’t have offensive skill of a modern 4 in the NBA.

So far 2 names stand out to me that might interest the Bulls.First is Kasparas Jakucionis. Same reasons AK got Matas last year Lithuanian and even played in Chicago for college.Hes apparently projected to be top 10.Only problem is this team is full of guards.
Then second Maluach the center from Duke. First he’s a center which is a Bulls need and also being from Sudan he has connections to Luol Deng.
