The play has to be Giannis for Davis and Flagg. Without getting their draft picks back from New Orleans or Portland, there is no incentive to tank.

So Davis and Flagg and a couple future firsts for Giannis and Kuzma.

I'd do that deal. But I can't see Dallas doing it. But I'd do it.

We can let the Flagg stuff die. Now we figure out if the platter of mid stuff we’ll get offered is worth it if Giannis asks out.

In my eyes, now we roll with Giannis and hope for some luck.

DAL isn't trading AD in the deal. You only trade the #1 pick if it makes you an instant title contender. Giannis/AD/Irving accomplishes that.

Said this in the other thread, but I'd forgotten that Kyrie tore his ACL. He's also on an expiring deal. I don't think they can count on that core contending, and definitely not at the expense of Flagg. I think we can forget about Dallas as an option.

Anyone dumb enough to trade for the shell that was once AD is going to get what they deserve.

Yeah, a full on rebuild makes more sense for Dallas. Get out from under that AD contract while they still can.

Trying to get creative with Dame’s salary.

Would Portland be interested in something around Grant’s boat anchor contract and Thybulle or Timelord’s expiring for Dame? What else could we get back for taking on the money? Is there anything we could include to get Scoot? Feels like they need to move on from one of Scoot/Shae/Simons

I absolutely would not put it passed Nico/Kidd to aspire to form a Giannis/AD/Kyrie Big 3, despite the obvious health concerns. Something like:

MKE: #1, #20, Lively, Christie, Rozier, Thompson, LAL '29 1st, DAL '31 1st
DAL: Giannis
MIA: Washington, Martin

Dallas fills out the roster with FA and their bevy of TPEs. They could probably find a decent Kyrie stopgap.

Dame/‘31 First for Grant/Timelord/Scoot

Dame/PC for PG13/Oubre

Any other Hail Mary ideas?

Dame+1st or a swap for Sexton+Collins was another. I like it if it's a '32 swap.

What’s our appetite for Reaves?

I know next year, we could do 3 1sts and a swap, but a player who’s actually worth all that would have to become available (Jimmy wasn’t worth that, KD probably won’t go for that, but then younger guys could be more - that package has to catch a player at right part of their curve)

Would you send out ‘31 1st if that’s all it took?

I would, but I think Reaves is awesome.

How bad does Jrue’s deal look for Boston and would it be worth it to bring him back?

Some sort of three teamer where we send out Kuz/PC/? and bring back Jrue.

Reaves seems like the perfect offensive complement for Giannis almost. Can shoot off ball. But cook at the end of the clock. Wouldn't overly step on Giannis' toes.

I brought that up previously it may be what we were waiting for when it came to trading the '31 1st. I doubt that's what LA would want, so it'd have to involve a 3rd team. Get Luka, maybe Bron, a more suitable partner. Reaves was a weird fit after the Luka acquisition.

Yeah, for me, he’s in that prime Brogdon tier, but also doesn’t have the injury issues. Better, craftier offensive player while not being as good of a defender.

My only reluctance is that I don’t mind our guard situation right now, and I think we need help in the other areas of our roster. It’s just an opportunity cost issue for me, but I think a single first for Reaves is very good value.

Mke: Reaves
Lal: Bobby (opts in), ‘31 1st

Jrue has 3 years left (he'll take his player option at 37). Kuz has 2. I don't want $100 million of Jrue.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Celtics won't bring back Horford with a potential lost season upcoming. Horford replace Brook? Assuming Bobby is back. I'd think about it. Horford made just $9.5 million this year.

Eric Nehm: how can the Bucks pitch Antetokounmpo on their path forward? One potential direction could be a gap year from contention to better position the organization to contend moving ahead and accepting that next season may not be the season Milwaukee wins its third NBA championship.

Other than Tim Duncan, all of the great single-franchise players went through gap years. Kobe Bryant led the league in scoring twice in the gap years between his fourth and fifth championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. A 32-year-old Steph Curry led the league in scoring and finished third in MVP in the 2020-21 season as the Golden State Warriors waited for Klay Thompson to return from injuries.

While it may not end up being realistic to win an NBA championship, this team could put Antetokounmpo in a position to win his third NBA MVP.

To close the season, after Lillard’s deep vein thrombosis diagnosis, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers made Antetokounmpo the point guard and built the entire offense’s structure around him. The numbers were eye-popping. In the six games Antetokounmpo played during the season-ending eight-game win streak, he averaged 31.8 points, 12.0 rebounds and 11.8 assists per game.
