The conclusion is either

1. The draft is rigged
2. We should've won more games and not rest so many players

Whoever is still saying we should tank harder after seeing Utah get the 5th pick is seriously delusional. You can stay on that Tank by yourself

There could very well be a tWo Part 3: Dip for Dybantsa thread a year from now…

If Ingram goes down early due to injury and Scottie doesn’t take a jump then I could see it happening. But I have confidence that Scottie will make a jump.

I think we're a lock to make the playoffs next year. Even if BI misses half the season as he often does.

go look at our roster to begin 2 season ago and compare it to now and tell me there is only a "single 9th to show for it"

Well, do you think it's better or worse compared to 2 years ago?

there is no guarantee for anything. alot depends on luck and chemistry. if we dont have it, then we dont make it. as of right now, there is no telling if we will have it. only thing we can say is that the team will go for wins next year to the best of their ability. we have a much deeper team talent wise but it's anybody's guess how it shakes out in the end.

I don't even care much, anymore.

Hope Ingram works out for them, I guess.

different. i think whether you like the team or not, take solace in the fact that almost the entire roster is different than it was as recent as 1.5 years ago. which means if this doesnt work, it will change some more and could possibly look at lot more different 1.5 years from now.

these are all transitional teams. we keep changing until we find something that works. only thing i am comfortable saying is that cap space will not be a part of it as it means nothing for us as no UFA wants to come here.

Spurs with the #2 pick. What's the NBA obsession with this small market team ?

We won the chip in 2019. The team could have ended up with the 14th pick and i'll still be a happy Raptor fan.

Man, if they can't even make the playoffs in this pathetic conference, just shutter the team and move it lol.

2 Seasons in a row of 20-30 wins, and only a single 9th pick to show for it lmao. The level of incompetence this FO has shown since 2019 is unreal.

Two seasons ago we had FVV/OG/Siakam/Barnes/Poeltl/13th and all of our picks except a 2024 1st.

Now we have IQ/Barrett/Ingram/Barnes/Poeltl/9th pick and all of our picks (no extra 1sts).

Worse at every position that’s not Barnes or Poeltl. I like the guys we have on the bench but they all project as role players. I’ll admit that I’m not that high on Gradey.

This is why you go make your own "luck".

Scout well
Make smart trades
Create good culture
Have good coaching
Develop players

You can at least control lots of elements of these things to make you better. So its on MU and Co to do that. He has certainly taken those steps the last year. Need another good year going forward.

Pop would get riled up every time the league did something suspicious that benefited the Lakers. If he's happy because the Spurs are good, he's not going to run his mouth. He was the only executive to regularly call out the league in the past.

Ah I remember the good old days of buzz words. "Culture" "development" "I believe" "We The North"

The reality of it is we got really lucky with a disgruntled star who couldn't choose where he would be traded. Today's NBA climate doesn't allow that anymore.

I didn't know Doncic chose LA.
Dame wanted Miami

It does still happen

Naw, we can always tank again next season.

There is a valid argument to be made that picking #5 is better than picking #9. But if you're banking on winning the lottery, you're going to need to send your best player to the Lakers first, or hope that it's a weak draft year.

It's up to Masai now to show that he can draft a better player at #9 than Charlotte, Utah, Washington, NOP, and Brooklyn will draft from 4-8.
