I brought that up previously it may be what we were waiting for when it came to trading the '31 1st. I doubt that's what LA would want, so it'd have to involve a 3rd team. Get Luka, maybe Bron, a more suitable partner. Reaves was a weird fit after the Luka acquisition.

A sign and trade of Portis and the '31 might be something. They could either keep the draft pick or use it to get another big.

It's a great idea but Horford probably goes to the Lakers or Denver.

They could just sign him in FA. They'll have cap space, or the MLE. For us, it'd be throwing in the expiring of Pat, Ajax, Smith & 2031 1st for Reaves (w/ the Lakers shipping some of that to a 3rd team). It doesn't require a lot of salary. Reaves makes <14m.

I know next year, we could do 3 1sts and a swap, but a player who’s actually worth all that would have to become available (Jimmy wasn’t worth that, KD probably won’t go for that, but then younger guys could be more - that package has to catch a player at right part of their curve)

Would you send out ‘31 1st if that’s all it took?

I would, but I think Reaves is awesome.

Yeah, for me, he’s in that prime Brogdon tier, but also doesn’t have the injury issues. Better, craftier offensive player while not being as good of a defender.

My only reluctance is that I don’t mind our guard situation right now, and I think we need help in the other areas of our roster. It’s just an opportunity cost issue for me, but I think a single first for Reaves is very good value.

Mke: Reaves
Lal: Bobby (opts in), ‘31 1st

Who is the best lob threat we could get for Luka with that 1st attached to Pat/Kuz/whatever? Not sure Bobby fits what he wants.

Bobby is more for depth. He is the Kleber upgrade. The Bucks '31 can likely get them Gafford or they can trade Rui, Kleber, Bucks '31, and LAL 1st for Claxton.

I wonder what Claxton would go for.

Mke: Reaves, Vincent
Bkn: Kuz, ‘31 1st
Lal: Claxton

Last year at this time, Claxton was probably worth quite a bit more, but his production took a step back, and now he’s getting paid quite a bit more.

Claxton is a solid idea, I think it's plausible all parties would do that.

I have doubts about the Nets helping out the Bucks in any trade that help keep Giannis in Milwaukee, but if they are interested would they want Kuzma or Pat expiring and one of LAL expiring plus picks?

Yeah, they'd probably rather have Pat's expiring. Could add a '32 swap to sweeten the deal, but that's getting pretty pricey.

If Giannis publicly commits to the Bucks, they will just want assets. And having our assets down the line keeps their dream alive if the Reaves experiment fails.

So some on here think Davis with Flagg makes Dallas an instant contender and some think he's washed. That's enough for me to want him.

Reaves is probably the kind of guy we should go after. Im not saying he's Brunson, but he could develop in a similar way after being given more of the keys on offense after taking a backseat in LA.

The roadmap to contention is going to require us to hit on a guy like that. its entirely possible that that guy is already in the building. But lets grab another one.

It doesn't matter if he can still play. When you need him, he'll be injured.

If we didn't have KPJ, I'd want Reeves as my PG. Since we have KPJ, I'd like to lean in to more switchability.

Acquiring Reeves would have been tricky anyway, because the Lakers are desperate for a young, athletic center, and we dont have one to trade.

Some sort of three teamer where we send out Kuz/PC/? and bring back Jrue.

It's bad, he's most likely getting moved. I guess I'd consider Kuzma + Pat. But then you still have a very old backcourt when Dame comes back. Boston had interest in Kuzma too they'd probably do that with Tatums injury now. I think we need a little more in that deal to make it fair though. Not sure it's even possible given Boston's 2nd apron.

3 years, $100 million for Jrue. 2 years, $42 million for Kuzma. Easy no.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I wonder to what extent Nehm is offering his advice vs this is what the team is feeding him on background.

Either way if the plan is to lean into a Giannis MVP push then that'll have reverberations down the roster -- whether the team actually pitches it as a "gap year" or not.

So, there is some wiggle room to lean further into an even more heliocentric approach around Antetokounmpo.

Without Lillard and limited assets, it might be the only viable way to play next season offensively, and it could lead to monster numbers for Antetokounmpo. With an increase in usage and more playmaking responsibility, Antetokounmpo could lead the league in scoring for the first time in his career. Or maybe he could average a triple-double. And if he does either of those things while leading the Bucks to a playoff spot — remember, it only took 44 wins to clinch the sixth seed in the East this season — it may lead to his third NBA MVP.

Antetokounmpo wants to compete at the highest level and make deep playoff runs, but if that is not going to be possible for the Bucks next season, an MVP would make him the 10th player in NBA history to win three, and it would be a worthy consolation prize.

I grew up in Chicago, and the season where MJ retired and Pippen was lead dog proved to be a really fun season, I still have memories of how fresh and exciting and new it felt. It would be fun to surround Giannis with youngsters and defenders and misfit role players and watch him put up a monster “F You Season” to the league.

Somehow figure a way to get Flagg and picks, send Ad to CHI and Giannis to Mavs

Bucks get: #1 ( Flagg ) / Reaves / Zac Collins / Patrick Williams / 2025 Bulls 1st / 2029 Lakers 1st / Bulls 2027 1st / Bulls 2029 1st
Bulls get: AD
Mavs get: Giannis / White
Lakers get: Gafford

Had a good laugh this morning. Kendrick Perkins said Quickley, Brandon Ingram and some picks for Giannis. Give Perk an Emmy. He is the best actor in a comedy series.
