Why good for Luka? He was devastated and lost money, no?

Dallas is toxic now and they didn't support him. I think it's best that he got out of there.

I've been in ten generally healthy, long term relationships, point being... I get the angle that you're coming from.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

If any other person heard about this, trade wouldnt happen. When they heard it it was already too late.

A lot of owners are not experts in basketball, and they trust their GM's, however on decisions like that you always ask for 2nd opinion if you are not sure. What Nico did here, just tells us that Dumont didnt get to be owner because he is smart like most of NBA owners, but because he got lucky. Dumbass.

I would put 90% on Nico and rest on the owner. He has final word, but he got tricked here.

All that is under assumption that everything here was legal. I still think that someone got a lot of money out of this, and we all know who that someone is.

If you're an owner who's capable of being tricked by your underling, you're a horrible owner and leader.

The owner isn't a victim. Victims don't have choices.

Leaders are always most responsible.

You need to check first who the owners really are in real life. The family who bought the Mavs admitted they have no clue about basketball and NBA so they appointed the first guy they thought will be able to run the team. But problem is, even the guy who acts as an owner, is more or less clueless himself and apparently got tricked heavily by Nico.

In short, yes owner is a dumbass but he was basically tricked and Cato reports that he is getting more and more sceptical about Nico.

Read on Twitter

Dumont must be incredible dumb, there is literally a statue outside of the arena with „loyalty never fades away“ written on it.

Being with the franchise over a year and still having no clue. Or just maybe double check with your special advisor about this trade. Just to be sure…

I still don't believe this was all incompetence. There's no **** way this deal gets done without proper approval and research done. It's too much at stake.

Jordan released a new ad, the trial of Luka. They are going all in on this thing. Nico sure can't seem to catch a break

I feel like that commercial deserves it's own thread. Epic!

Something weird about Harrison's final year aligning with the final years potentially of Irving and AD. Like they are a package deal leverage or something.

Anyway, he's a weirdo out of his depth in the position and the inflated ego got the best of him and the worst for the team, like an unintended Trojan horse.

If I was a MAvs fan, after Nico I'd be most angry at Cuban. Fairly clear he hired a guy as GM assuming he would just be the face with Cuban as the power. And that only works if Cuban owns the team.

That is just awesome.
They could have doubled down and let him have beer and hookah instead of water, but maybe it's an idea for the next ad

Anonymous player's reactions to the trade.

Read some of them.

i'll share a few of my faves:

"I don’t even know if 2K would’ve allowed that trade”

“Shocked. I was on the court. … A fan told me at half court. … It’s one of those moments you won’t forget. Like when Michael Jackson died (or) 9-11 happened. Those moments you just know is going to be forever ingrained.”

“I think that s— was idiotic, but I don’t think it was a bad trade. I just think that the way they did it and everything about it was idiotic. I think them shopping the franchise (face) of their organization — for a lot of players who already feel that this is a business (like), ‘The motherf—ers don’t care about you,’ I think it sets an example, like, ‘All right, why should I give a f— about this team if this is how they’re going (to treat me)? I came in here and I was All-NBA, like, five times in six seasons, an MVP candidate, and don’t even get told about none of this.’ I’m like, ‘This organization doesn’t give a f— about me. Why would I give a f— about any organization?’”

“Stupid … If Luka can get traded, everyone can get traded. So it’s kind of messed up the way that the NBA runs their league.”
Psychotic. It didn’t make sense. I don’t know how you make it make sense

We had to wait couple of months but now it all makes sense, the trade is now explained. Thank you Adam Silver!
