Re: PF targets
I actually don't mind the MPJ idea at all. He's only got one more year on his contract than Tobias has, so it's not like it's a huge long term risk. The biggest thing is he'd essentially be cheap/free. It'd let us keep Ausar, Ivey, Holland, etc. I think it makes sense for Denver too. Tobias will still be able to help them in the playoffs, and his expiring deal will help since Gordon's extension kicks in in 2026-2027 and they'll have to re-sign Braun that year too. MPJ has his flaws, and is obviously overpaid (but so is Tobias). MPJ is also only 26 and a career 40% 3 point shooter. If it works out, cool, maybe you have your starting SF/PF for the future. If it doesn't work out, just let his contract expire after the 2027 season and hope by then that Holland is ready to be the guy.
Tobias ($26.6M) + Fontecchio ($8.3M) for MPJ ($38.3M). Add minor picks to whatever side to make it work.

Re: PF targets
Sasser, Tech, 2025 2nd to New Orleans for Kelly O, he becomes a third center, he could play the backup 4 with Stew, and Ausar, but I think he and Stew out on the floor together as stretch bigs could be a nice lineup here and there. It’s not a long term solution, if we want to long term I think you shoot for Jabari
(I don’t think there’s a chance), maybe Kuminga, but really I think we got our future PF in Ausar, and it’s going to be the correct bench player to solidify the roster.

Been there, done that with Kelly O…I’d pass on this one. Rather see how Sasser pans out. Good insurance if we have a guard injury.

I don't want Ausar playing pf. Curious why are you obsessed with small ball? if 6'8 Tobias can't guard Kat what makes you think 6'7 ausar can? Besides he's 20 lbs lighter than Harris

Re: PF targets
Tobias did a nice job on KAT, actually.
If we’re looking for PF/C targets, it appears Dallas definitely has too many now. Flagg can play the 3 initially, but his long-term future is guarding the 4.
PJ Washington, perhaps?

I was thinking the same thing. What about AD?

I mean, that nut job Nico gave up Luka to get him, so I doubt he trades him for Ivey or Ausar or Duren or whatever.

I like PJ! I like his toughness but he's 6'6 and his game is similar to Tobias without the post up game

Boston is going to blow it up imo. Tatum is done. They are heavily in the luxury tax. I bet Kristaps can be had pretty cheap and he’s the type of low risk, non-future mortgaging move we can make. He’ll make us close to a contender in the new look East (if healthy).

Re: PF targets
Yup. The Pistons can get a deal done without giving up a core piece, easily. Got firsts to trade, and an insane amount of 2nds.(15)ComboGuardCity wrote:Boston is going to blow it up imo. I firmly believe the players that shouldn't be touched until at least the trade deadline of next year;
Cade
Ivey
Ausar
Duren
1A.)Holland. Unless a perfect fit is available I wouldn't want to move Ron either. The Ausar/Holland conundrum will have to be addressed though at some point.
Porzingis, P.J. Washington, Aldama, Naz. Porzingis and PJ would be Ideal as they both bring an element of defense with the offense. A Duren/Porky Frontline would be formidable, for sure. As would a Duren/Washington one.
The Pistons are a LOT closer to being something special then anyone realized. The defense is legit, and Ivey is going to help the offense a TON. Adding the right PF is going to be seismic for this team.
I am sitting back, and hoping Langdon doesn't make a huge mistake. No reclamation projects. No stupid trades.

Well dang. I thought you were mistaken, but nope, he’s listed st 6’6”. Did not know that, he plays bigger.

Kristaps is an injury ticking time bomb. Honestly, Boston has nothing I want. They have two supermax players which has put the franchise in a pickle. This is why I don't wan't Giannis! All we have to do is stay the course and either draft or trade for a PF with length who is young, has potential to shoot and rebound. Also, he has to be tough. Specialist players should be offered cheap contracts. The more versatile you are the more money we should offer.
The only max player on our roster should be Cade. Is he a supermax player, no but Langdon can't afford to make another mistake, otherwise you have Boston. Their run was so short lived

Re: PF targets
Love the idea of Porzingis. The size and the shooting. Except he's just not available ever it seems.
Love PJ Washington. Talk about a Detroit type player. He would add to our toughness and defensive identity. I'd be pumped if we got him as our backup4 to split time with Tobias. I see he's 6'7" 230lbs. 26yrs old. 38%from 3
Do itttt

This. Kristaps is neither the center or PF we need. He cost the Celtics the game last night ---has been utterly worthless in the playoffs this year. Giannis has no interest in the Pistons and Trajan shouldn't gut the team and mortgage the future for him. Pistons should go after more realistic possibilities to upgrade PF position. Who knows 37th pick in the draft my yield a nugget; one mock draft has the Pistons selecting Johnni Brommi --- he's big and versatile and would improve the frontcourt.

Is Brown attainable now with Boston in shambles and a high payroll?
Kind of a fake #2 who can be a pretend #1 if needed with championship pedigree.

He’s probably going to cost a lot and I don’t think he’s worth it.

HARD pass. 4/236 on his deal, hasn’t been a good three point shooter for years. Not a good passer or ball-handler, either. He’s a good defense slasher. We are flush af with those already.

Re: PF targets
Celtics will for sure keep Tatum, Brown and White trio... as well as the inexpensive Pritchard. If anything, they'll move on from Jrue Holiday who makes $32, $35, $38 million the next three seasons since they already have other really good options at the 1 and they can easily find a much cheaper option in FA as well with someone like a Tyus Jones or Schroeder.
Jrue Holiday is most likely the odd man out. Jrue will be 35 years old in a few weeks. Even KP is pretty needed there with Al Horford being so old.
