Maybe.

I’m just saying I think Tatum and Brown have always been inherently flawed in a way when it comes to late game offence.

Brown has a shaky handle and lacks the basketball IQ to not get sucked into defensive traps etc and he doesn’t naturally create for others.

Tatum has improved a hell of a lot since his rookie year but he still doesn’t blow by defenders easily. He struggles to get to good spots all the time. His handle deserts him too at times.

We love to go on about bad shots by these guys and how they should take better ones. But defences have always been great at exploiting their weaknesses. Unfortunately Tatum and Brown as good as they are have never scored as smoothly and effortlessly as other championship duos. They get forced into bad shots because of their flaws.

You can move Joe on fine but I think the next coach will have the exact same issue.

Kyrie or Kemba with his version of the Jays would’ve looked hella nice lol. Would reduce so much pressure on the Jays. Holiday is old, really regressed and is borderline unplayable on offense a lot of times, Horford has a lot of scoring duds and is old. White really just changed his game to be strictly a three point shooter now which sucks because he can get into the paint, PP is undersized but is able to create his own offense which is nice. KP is just not reliable come April. With Joe not running anything you’re just asked of JT to get the ball near half court and make things happen late in clutch moments while other teams move the ball more and have guys who can score one on one.

Yeah I wonder if Brad tries to find a scoring guard going forward.

Holiday was awesome last year but I think his finger and hamstring have been cooked these playoffs. He’s barely looked to initiate offence.

**** year in boston sports . Red Sox have no winnng consistency. Bruins crappy season. Pats still a wait and see but I have doubts. They don’t have much offensively.

We need a guard i prefer a 6’4 or up who can slash and score.

Those of us who actually know ball told y’all this series was statistically and factually over when we went down 0-2. Feel bad for JT but him and Joe are the reason we lost this series. I hope Joe does the smart thing in his last game as a head coach and benches our starters in Game 5 so we have healthy players to trade next season and Jaylen doesn’t further tank his stock by reminding everyone how bad he looks when forced to lead this team like Game 7 against Miami. Title window officially closed, rebuild starts Wednesday.

Cs don't have to get Flagg.

I think Dylan Harper will be a good replacement for JB.

Harper will be a good fit with White.

We really need a guard who can attack the basket and get layups.

Bad coaching by Joe. Multiple leads melted away

Timeouts weren't that good again... I'd really like for the C's to hire somebody else.
Good assessment:

I didn’t watch second half. Blowing 2 20 point leads and a 14 point one where your star is gong insane is just silly. We should’ve been looking a Mr w sweep

worst series in the tatum/brown era. bad coaching, bad shooting, bad clutch execution, now this. RIP 2024-2025 C's.

JB, Jrue, KP will all be on the block. But not a lot of teams have big cap space. We're going to have to take pennies on the dollar, or else drop some picks. Brad will have to pull some rabbits. Also I'm guessing Al will retire rather than come back for a last run w/o Tatum.

I say we keep Joe next year, we're not winning anything anyways. Better off in the lotto, anything can happen look at the Mavs, and Joe will help us get there and then it's sayonara. 2026 draft is 4-5 deep so if we can move up we get another impact player to add to Tatum. Kinda the same recipe as when Pop added Duncan to Robinson.

The Tatum era in Boston is far from over. It's just on hiatus.

We shoulda been up 20 at halftime, but missed FTs and sloppy turnovers kept the Knicks in it....Wow, can't believe this team is done forever...Probably gonna trade butterfingers Brown now.

Just sickening. We’ll always have the memories of last year, but this very much feels like the end of this chapter.

Game 5 very well may be the last time we see this group.

Also didn’t help that Jaylen had multiple awful possessions while we were rolling.

He was a complete momentum killer all night.

The team was absolutely horrific outside of Tatum.

Agree. I hope JT recovers but I'm not overly optimistic.

JB has been atrocious when it matters this season. He has regressed to his worst habits of years ago and needs to be moved on.

JH was outstanding last season, but this year he has shown genuine signs of age. I can't see him bouncing back next year.

KP has dead set fallen off a cliff and is clearly unreliable moving forward.

AH is AH. One of the greats in the twilight of his career.

Honestly, this squad has gone from being a great team to a rabble when it mattered most. Not good.

Losing Tatum is devastating. This loss is devastating.
But there is still a chance to win this series and to even win a championship.

Call me a romantic, call me delusional.

Yeah…for sure. Don’t show up at home, lay down, then trade all the players. Great idea. Most of this fan base 100% doesn’t deserve to see another winning squad. How many times do we need to see that tanking does not work?

Losing all those games at home this season was a sign that this team wasn’t the same as last year. You can blame injuries and fatigue from a long playoff run plus olympics but there was something misding. I like Joe but he allowed our old bad habits to creep back in. I think he should have cracked the whip more a la Ime. Doesn’t matter now but Brad has a monumental challenge in front of him. Good chance we are a lottery team next year

Really disappointed with JB.

From the 1st qtr. until the Tatum injury, JB was making mistakes.

The last mistake will cost Tatum a season, if it's an achilles injury.

It was a simple play, JB was curling to get the ball at the FT line.

But JB mishandled the ball and that led to JT diving for the loose ball and injury.

To be fair, Cs didn't deserve to win this game because they just can't execute in crunch time.

Do we credit any of the blame to Tatum/Brown?

They have not executed in close playoff games consistently virtually since 2018.

It’s been an inherent flaw with teams led by them in basically every playoff run.

We won last year because we had so much talent it didn’t even matter.

Seriously, how many times since 2020 in the playoffs have we had bad losses because of dumb shots, sloppy passes etc?

That final play with Tatum going down was like a perfect representation of all the bad parts of their run.

Lazy sloppy pass, screwing around against a hungry team and bad injury luck to top it off.

Thankful we won last year and will always cherish that but I don’t think we ever got past the same issues with Tatum and Brown.

You can blame Joe but it was the same under Ime and Brad.

Maybe Tatum was doomed no matter what but we should have been up further in the third and maybe Tatum wouldn’t have been playing deep in the fourth.

Ime and Brad got the most out of their teams. They didn’t lose Playoff series they were heavily favored in. Joe has done it twice in three years.

We were heavily favored against the warriors, and Ime’s stubborn attitude cost us a championship that year. Though losing to the knicks 1st two games at home because the coach didn’ t adjust was a fireable offense. So sick of the 3ball iso ball offense
