After Bron left, they had been trying to patch a sinking ship ever since, 10y of mid without a proper reset and they'll continue, the Jimmy fluke years done their damage
2 finals appearances and 3 conference finals on that sinking ship after the best player of the last two decades left and our max contract hall of famer got literal blood clots, and had to end his career.
What you guys consider to be a dumpster fire would equate to the best run of over half the organizations in the league in their history.
Yeah! They can hang all these almost banners now!
The bubble and 23 run were as fluky as it gets, there was no method behind it, just luck of the draw and the right matchups.
Even mid teams have good runs sometimes but 5th or 8th seeds NEVER win, it's just a historic fact and that is what they have been for last 10 years.
The definition of a mid treadmill team.
Bron left the Cavs too for basically nothing, they reset and he came back to a team which had resources and assets.
They went on to go to 4 straight finals.
Bron left them again for nothing, they reset and are elite again!
Stop being blind, proper resets worked for many organizations willing to do it properly, doesn't even have to be a tank, just a proper reset, which clears cap space, brings all your young players on the same timeline and accumulates assets.
Funny you bring up the Cavs they just won their first playoff series without Lebron since 1992
The bubble run was not a fluke, you just forget the roster that was assembled post deadline after we brought in Iggy and Crowder. That team was loaded, and would have won the title if Goran did not get injured. Came back 2 years later, had the best record in the East, and our best player hitting a wide open uncontested shot from his spot away from going back to the finals, only to return to it the following year.
You could make an argument Miami has been the most consistent franchise in sports over the last 30 years, and we have fans in here crying like we are the Orlando Magic, and disrespecting the people who built it. Get a grip
We are not going to be a top 4 team in the league every single year, that is just not how it works, but this organization has proven without a doubt that more often than not they are going to be competing to be one of those teams. Since 2005 we have participated in 9 of 20 conference finals just consider that for a moment.
