The second round has been pretty lame with all these injuries. 3 series are over already because of them, this one being the most obvious

Butler is going to be sent home in Minnesota.

The Target Center is going to be wild. We loathe Jimmy on a level that is hard to describe in words

I have read what happened from both sides viewpoints before the trade. I know Wolves fans have their own biased one sided view of it.

Your answer indicates you haven’t read what happened, unless you think the CBA is a “biased, one sided view.”

When MIN decided to give Wiggins a baby max deal, it ended up being slightly higher than what Jimmy was making in his final year of the deal he signed in Chicago. He demanded to be paid the full max. MIN said, “Sure, but you are under contract one more year. According to the CBA, we can legally give you two choices - an extension (though with a 120% raise, it will be slightly below the full max), or finish the season you’re signed for, and we’ll give you the full max next year. Your choice.”

Jimmy declined both options, and said, “I recuse to play the last year of my deal if it’s less than Wiggins. You can still renegotiate my deal.” This is technically legal under the CBA, but deals can only be renegotiated for teams with cap space, and in this case a team would need to be a full max under the cap. MIN’s payroll, like most teams, was sitting just under the luxury threshold, so Jimmy wanted the team to somehow pay to get most of the team off the books, with KAT and Wiggins on max deals. The CBA is why renegotiations so rarely happen.

Anyway, when Jimmy didn’t get what he wanted, he demanded a trade, but Thibs dragged his feet. In order to force a trade to happen, Jimmy made a fake demonstration to make himself toxic. Jimmy did beat the starters with the bench, screaming “pay me” to Wolves brass while he did it. The starters thought it was amusing until Jimmy called them out, and they demanded a rematch, but Jimmy had left practice. He had planned this outburst, because he rushed home where Rachel Nichols (who he was having an affair with at the time) was waiting at his house to interview him about his staged tirade, and make this a big national story. Towns took a major hit to his reputation and was labeled “soft” for five years. Jimmy made the locker room so toxic, that months later, he got his wish and was traded. After the trade, Jimmy has dodged coming to play in Minnesota for years, and was given the nickname “General Soreness” because this was the excuse he used on the injury report to avoid flying to MIN to play.

It's ovah. I confess to mocking the idea that Minnesota would win in 5, and they will win in 5, so I was wrong. Wrong with an asterisk, to be sure, but still wrong.

Is the Rachel Nichols thing actually true? I assumed it was just internet gossip that had no factual basis.

I guess you missed the actual thread, where Wolves fans spend half their time talking about Jimmy.

Just responding to your ignorant comments on him/CBA.

I think we found Rachel Nichols alt-account.

That said injuries happen so...congrats Minny. Punchers chance but my suspicion is, the OKC-Denver winner ends up going to the finals from the West.

Wolves have been feasting on Denver the last couple seasons.

Jimmy Butler is an elite role player like Draymond or Derrick White.

NGL. I came up with the General Soreness nickname. :)

Butler should have stayed in the East if he wanted play off success.

He isn't cut out to win in the West 8-)

Aren't the warriors paying gonna 60 million a year?

Shoot the ball, Jimmy!

Yes, and more sad, that we will see worse teams in semifinals and finals because of it. Other than OKC and Denver other semifinalists seems to be worse team, who benefited from opponents injuries.

Hmm, Minnesota finished with the 2nd-best SRS in the Western Conference and was in the WCF last year.

I don’t know about this spin.

What makes Denver better than Minnesota?

Ant gave motivational talk at half time last night. That's why Wolves came out the way they did.

"I told them, 'We only got two wins,'" Edwards said after Monday's Game 4, recalling his message. "I've never seen a series end 2-1. I told them we have to get two more wins and right now we're playing like we already got four wins. ... We had to figure it out because if we would have kept playing like that, we would have lost tonight."

No kidding. People are making stuff up. We're also one of a handful of teams that are both a top 10 offense and defense.

Ladies and Gentlemen we are witnessing the transition of face of the league. LeBron/Curry is passing the torch to Ant Edwards.

Ant is the guy moving forward. The league is in his hands.
