Based on the criteria he's looking for from legit sources (Superstar teammate to ease burden and no state income tax), I would be surprised if he doesn't go to the Spurs especially when they have the ammo along with contracts (some combo of Vassell, Johnson, Barnes) to easily trade for him without affecting the team's chances of winning.

That was the best possible outcome for them to land Giannis, because I assume they just keep Flagg had they won. An incredible 3-year run of luck for them.

They have had the #1 pick 3 times and each time there was a no brainer generational talent to pick that was impossible to screw up. Can't say I am surprised at any of their luck.

Keep Barnes & Walter (& Ingram ofc) and they can have everything else.

Poeltl, Dick, Agbaji, #9, and 4 future FRP's should be a competitive offer for 2 years of Giannis.

I feel like we needed a top 3 pick this draft to have a realistic chance....now it's another KD situation where even if you trade for the superstar the roster won't even be good enough to contend.

With our lotto fall, imo the only way we're in play for Giannis is if we work a 3 way trade with NO to return their picks back to MIL.

Giannis will have a say here. He clearly wants a situation where he feels comfortable in and has a young family that he seems to prioritize.

That's not to say Toronto checks those boxes for him, but that this may not come down to the best package.

Lol lets be real here....Raptors do not have the assets to get him....But since the league seems to be rigged....If NBA rigs this for us and Giannis magically requests a trade to only Toronto....Then we could get him...But if that does not happen hes going to one of the Spurs/Rockets/OKC or a team he demands to go too....

Stephon Castle is at least a tier below Barnes as a player. If I'm the Bucks I take the safer bet of Scottie, RJ and the 9th pick over two developmental pieces in Castle and the second pick.

Trades are always about getting the best player, and there's a high probability Scottie is better than the number two pick (and lower risk because you know what you are getting), and RJ and Castle are probably a wash.

It doesn't make sense for the Spurs to offer this much for Giannis. They could be set for the next decade by just keeping Castle and Harper next to Wemby.

It's no guarantee that either Castle or Harper ever reaches an all-star level, the bar is so high for guards in the league.

I think the best thing about the result for the Spurs is that they have enough to get Giannis without giving up Castle now IMO. #2, #14, Vassel, Barnes, Sochan and as many future 1st as the Bucks can negotiate sets up both teams nicely and is the best deal on the board, even with Castle staying in SA.

The only way the Raptors land Giannis is if SAS, OKC, or Houston don't want him. Or if he specifically demands to come here and Milwaukee obliges him.

Raptors get Giannis
Bucks get RJ, Dick, Mogbo, Olynyk, Hawkins, 2025 9th pick, Bucks 2026 swap returned, 2027 Bucks 1st Rounder, 2027 Raptors 1st Rounder (Unprotected), 2029 1st Rounder (Unprotected)
Pelicans get Poeltl, Raptors 2027 2nd Rounder

This is only if Giannis forces his way to Toronto and the Bucks feel obliged to send him here because they will easily get more from others.

2 Things:

- Why should Perkins know more about what Giannis wants than anybody else?
- The Price will be too steep and teams like the spurs and OKC can still beat it

It starts with Scottie + #9 +++…

Spurs can easily beat any offer we put out tho.

The only way he comes here is if Giannis himself says to come here.

With Giannis name-dropping Scottie the other day, he likely only agrees to Toronto with Barnes still there (assuming he would ever agree to Toronto). He is not going to the Raptors to play with IQ and BI. He just went through many years of "good-when-actually-healthy-but-never-is" with Middleton, he's not hitching his wagon to that again (and I love the BI trade).

So it's entirely valid to propose non-Scottie trades, however light they may be. I also don't say that to avoid trading him, I would move him in a second for Giannis.

Then its already dead. Milwaukee wont accept a deal without Barnes in it.

Correct. It's not ideal. Assuming he would even agree to Toronto (which I highly doubt), he likely wouldn't want to if Scottie is not there, and the Bucks likely don't want anything without him included. We can use all the advanced stats in the world, or "when healthy" scenarios we want, but he isn't going to Toronto to play with the other guys. Ingram has played an average of 42 games per season over the last 3 years and will not have played in 11 months when next season begins. That is Kris Middleton all over again.....Giannis is not doing that.

The CBA says no. Giannis makes $54M/year you can't get him without trading at least one large salary.

Yeah, the bolded plus what Perkins said, is making me think Orlando might be getting slept on here more than Toronto. Giannis didn't just name drop Scottie in the clip that's been making the rounds, he also mentioned Paolo (said Pablo though lol).

I'm sure they will ask for both the #2 pick and Castle, depends how negotiations go if they would have go give up both.
