Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler can now battle it out to see who becomes the sacrificial lamb taking the snaps in New Orleans.

Rattler is better than Caleb according to one **** disturbing attention seeking son of a bitch on Twitter. Actually Rattler was supposed to be the best quarterback in his class. I guess that’s gonna play out LOL.

Leading up to last year's draft some QB analyst did tout Rattler's ability to get the ball out quickly. He compared him to Brock Purdy in that regard. But he still has to throw to the right receiver and throw it accurately. At this point I can't predict which QB will be the starter for the Saints. But I don't anticipate the Saints being that good this year. It will take a while for Kellen Moore to build that roster to his liking.

I think the hardest thing to do is to improve accuracy for these guys. It is what it is for the most part. Without checking, I imagine there’s got to be some natural improvements from a rookie into a veteran. But baseline accuracy in terms of what a quarterback brought to the table in terms of basic talent somehow improving is not what I would expect to happen.

Been circulating for a couple of days, but in case you've missed it....
TGibson (1/28/17); "..."a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 for drama"...What's the worst? "...yelling matches with Thibs, everybody is just going crazy and I'm just sitting there...like, 'Don't call my name please..."

It sounds like Turner will mainly be used inside, at least for the time being:
“The first thing we got to do is we got to play him in at defensive tackle and let him learn there, let him develop there, both as a three-technique and a nose, and then we’ll worry about trying to see that flexibility,” Allen said. “From a skill set standpoint, yeah, he’s got some flexibility. We’ll just have to see what he can learn, how quickly he can learn and adapt to what we’re doing.”

Re: Bears 11.0: Free Agency, College Pro days, Draft & beyond
While I feel satisfied with what the Bears did, still I would be feeling better about the draft with Grant/Williams, Burden and I guess Ozzy if they were trading down. TE to be named later if need be. But obviously we have to trust these new coaches had Poles draft exactly what they wanted and needed. Truth be told I was Ok with Warren, but taking 2 pass catchers with the first 2 picks was enough to make things weird for me. Not gonna overly nitpick the other picks in later rounds. The linebacker was odd also, and the 25 YO corner, but again, trusting these coaches had their orders filled. I get the thinking on all those later round guys, and it’s a crap shoot anyway.
The thinking at the top was the only thing to go over at this point. The other teams trying to trade up for Loveland (assuming) is interesting. But if that pick was made, then the second round picks are curious.

Re: Bears 11.0: Free Agency, College Pro days, Draft & beyond
Burden was just a value pick. He was, according to Poles, the highest ranked player on their board, and possibly by a lot. So they took advantage of that good fortune. A lot of draft evaluators listed that as one of the best picks in the whole draft, by any team. Don't have a problem with doing that, especially since we needed a slot receiver anyway. If the Bears had passed on him, and he became a star elsewhere, you know everyone would be blaming Poles for not taking him. I'm glad our GM has the smarts to recognize good luck when it's staring him in the face.
I don't mind a 25 year old rookie either. A lot of these guys, you only have for one contract anyway. So if they have him for his years 25-29 or 30, that's a useful pick in the 5th round.

Trey Hendricksons value is probably as low as it can get, for, someone who gets 15 sacks a year. I would not be surprised if we could trade a third for him at this point. The only obstacle would can we afford him. There’s usually a way to make it work.

If we hadn't signed Dayo in the off season it would be a no brainer to take on Hendrickson. But we gave Dayo a $48 Million deal with almost $30 million guaranteed. That being said do you think adding Hendrickson gets us to the Super Bowl this year? I have to think that if the O-Line can gel in time we'd at least make it to the NFC Final against the Eagles.

who are you cutting/trading to make room for hendrickson? the reality is that adding him might not make us better at all in the present, not to mention the new contract AND loss of valuable pick
so no, he probably wouldn't get us to the playoffs, let alone "at least the NFC final", which is absurd
is it a no brainer for every other team in the league w/o 2 strong EDGEs to take him on? there are many such teams. doesn't seem to be a strong market for him. for a reason

given what we already knew (who and where), this is a decent setup. ideally, you want the tougher matchups at the beginning of the season (teams not at their best) or at the end (injuries piled up). but even that middle section is no picnic. tough for me to find 10 wins

You're right. Only way they are better than .500 is if they are a DRASTICALLY different team. And realistically, even then, that will take probably 6 games to really figure things out.

could have a pretty solid season and still only end up with 8 wins there.
just eyeballing it, the path to finishing above .500 is probably something like
gotta win at least 5 of these games: vikings, cowboys, raiders, saints, giants, steelers, browns
shoot for a split in these games: @ commanders, @ vikings, bengals, @ packers, packers, lions
steal at least one of these: @ lions, @ ravens, @ eagles, @ 49ers
