yeah injuries suck to see especially to a guy of that magnitude. i just don’t want to hear that the reason we win this series once we finish them, he was there for the majority of it

Especially given how we were down Randle, Mitch, OG, and Brunson--with Hart injured but playing--by the end of least year's playoffs, and had Mitch, Brunson and Precious each gone for extended parts of this regular season, and yet many posters here still talked about how we uSeD iNjURiEs aS aN ExCuSe.... :banghead:

That said, Boston's a great team, and I liked the idea of taking them down at full health. Injuries suck!

With his defense last year, that was a blessing…

Well Tatum's a good dude, you only can hate him because he's not on your team

Yea. Humble, unassuming superstars don't exist; he's the exception. Easy dude to like.

Again, reading this thread the Celtics injuries never count. Brown injuries himself towards the off season, KP is clearly not the same, Jrue’s hammy and now Tatum.

Boydanovics injury had a impact though..

Delusional.

Dude, we're talking about last year against Indy vs this year. Knicks played 6 guys in one of the Indy games. We had nobody.

All the posts at the beginning of this series were saying how healthy y'all were and how it was gonna be a sweep and we'd be making excuses by the end of it. No major players have missed games until now when the series was already going to 3-1. Very different situation.

We just needed live bodies by the end. I think we played 6 players in one of the Indy games.

I didn't say it at the time but I was actually relieved that Indy won Game 7 so we could just go home and lick our wounds. I was really worried we'd suffer an injury we couldn't come back from if we kept fighting.

Indeed.

I'm sure that series lit a fire on someone like Brunson. He really hates to lose and him going out by an injury instead of competing to the very end must have irked him all summer.

And now, were seeing some of that against a team we had almost no chance against a week ago - according to the majority here.

I think most people acknowledge that the Celtics were not at 100% even before Tatum's injury. Brown and KP are clearly diminished. But they are at least playing.

The Knicks played in last year's playoffs without (literally) their second-best (or third-best) player in Randle. He didn't play any of the games. They also played most of the ECSF series without OG and Robinson, who were both injured.

So they were down an All-Star and their two best defenders. People mention Bogie's injury to highlight just how depleted the team was.

Even if we want to get into that…Randle was out for the season, Mitch and Bogey were taken out in the first round, OG was done by 2nd game of the Pacers series…that’s half the rotation right there. That’s not including Hart and Brunson’s injuries. So yeah, that kinda had an impact for us.

And if you go back to the first game thread, I acknowledged every Celtics injury that you just listed and said that’d cause issues this series. A Celtics fan’s rebuttal was showing me no players listed on the injury reports
