no more tiring than your 5 page essays on the value of the 49th pick in this draft.

Enjoy the Wizards board. Moaning and groaning has been the theme for the last 40 years.

  No offense to anybody, but I needed that laugh.

I could give two damns about the 76ers either at this point, more than the Spurs actually.

That's what you get for hanging out with Doc and not extending the invite to anyone else. As if I'm not a fan of silver spring sports bars.

Right. I live right down the road off Georgia Ave on the DC side. I could have been there to give PIF my grievances from the last 30 years in person. :D

Doc & I were talking about this last night -- time for a real-world get-together! We'll come up with an idea. Or... someone else suggest something!

Y'all should do draft night. I won't be there, but it would be a good time I'm sure. Wild ups and downs. Hopefully more ups than the other way. But even if so, plenty of entertaining griping about it.

Have to say PIF is an absolute diehard though. When we picked 6 he was miserable. Totally deflated. Me I was laughing. Like already saying okay fine, we can pick Maluach now. There's got to be an upside. But the poor dude was positively flattened by yet another example of the Wiz poor luck. For a guy who doesn't believe in luck. That said well yeah, I mean, I get it though, he's going to have to live into his 100's if he wants to see a Wizards championship in his lifetime. The team better hurry up and win something for this dude. Good guy. That was some of the more fun and entertaining Wizards misery I've had in a long time. :D

I watched the drawing of the ping pong balls by the NBA during yesterday's lottery drawing and saw something that was curious... [here's the link: https://youtu.be/NCxgXS7EBI0?si=0jQBBYEbtrEYTcA4]

There were a total of 16 ping pong balls chosen in increments of 4 separate draws.
2 numbers (11, 5) were drawn in 3 of the 4 draws
3 numbers (3, 7, 10) were drawn in 2 of the 4 draws.

5 numbers (1, 4, 6, 8, 9) were never drawn.

I asked Generative AI what were the odds of 5 numbers not being drawn (or at least I tried to) in 16 draws. AI said the probability is (13/14)^80. That's 0.266%. I want to be clear. I have NO idea if that's correct. But, for now, I'm putting that number out there.

Per a Utah reporter, all the Jazz combinations included the number 1.
I would be curious if all the Wizard combinations included either 1,4,6,8,9.

If I wanted to fix the nba lottery, I would do it by 'fixing' the ping pong balls (i.e., tamper with the ball with weighting or some similar method) to ensure that certain balls would not come up -- thus, eliminating certain teams -- and making it more likely that other teams would be favored. In other words, I suspect that the NBA considered San Antonio, Dallas, and Philadelphia as favored destinations for Flagg. Charlotte may have been as well because of the proximity to Duke. I'm guessing that there were other teams that were favored by the NBA. Their numbers just didn't come up. I'm also guessing that there were teams that were not favored by the NBA.

This is all highly speculative. I'm not a mathematician. My percentages might be way off. But, the fact that 5 separate numbers were not drawn just seems odd. It might not be. Maybe that's a normal variation. Maybe not.
