"Maybe if they get Kuzma out of Milwaukee and into a winning organization in Boston, he can go back to being a championship competitor." - Jawn Hawst, hopefully some guy in the Boston org

I'm not naive enough to believe anyone's gonna be fooled by Kuzma anymore, but Boston's situation now pretty much necessitates them getting out of luxury tax hell. The more I think about it, the more sense it makes. They can just bump up Pritchard next to Derrick White, and the 28th pick is a meager cost to dump Jrue's final two years. Giannis gets his former championship buddy and he's still useful enough for us to tread water as an elite defensive squad. Wait for Dame to recover and try to go on a Miami type playoff run or two. I'd obviously ask for more but that's what I'd settle for.

To be clear, I agree and think you make a good case (although Boston might not want to facilitate keeping Giannis in Milwaukee). Just mostly mocking the fact that our GM thought he only needed to get Kuzma out of Washington to turn him into not a turd.

He's on a plane with a guy like Mikal Bridges who went for five #1's.

I don't think that's the case because he's coming off a rough playoffs. So it's stock down. Don't know if it was ever as high as Bridges cuz of the clear 2-way play. Bridges also was a quasi-creator in Brooklyn.

And Phoenix traded their '31 1st for 3 1sts in earlier drafts that were projected lower, like the Knicks' picks. We can throw in Smith too. We'll see if a s&t for Trent or Bobby is useful as well. I don't think we're far off here. Whether or not we'd get there is another matter.

Austin Reaves was playing through a big toe sprain, the same injury that Garland sat out with for almost 2 weeks except Reaves gutted it out.

Lakers aren’t going to give Reaves who’s coming off a breakout season averaging 20/5/6 for role players.

Perception is reality. I wouldn't be making the appeal if I didn't think he was a good buy-low candidate.

The main asset in that deal is the '31 1st that's worth 3 projected mid-later 1sts per the recent market. It would be sent to a 3rd team for proven guy(s). But the Lakers may have to trade Reaves for a couple good role players, because the mix w/ Luka doesn't work. He's not netting a star.

Am sure the Celtics would rather send him out of conference...but if they do want to bail for cash savings, how do we think our offer compares to what else they'd get?

I'd feel a lot better about seeing how the kids in our backcourt develop if we had even Old Man Holiday around to shore up the defense.

They'll get legit offers for Porzingis if they put him on the market, but they're not getting offers for Jrue. Not with that contract. That's kinda the point though. Boston is no longer in a position to worry about what happens in the conference. Their window is currently just as shut as ours, maybe even more so because they don't have a Giannis level dude. With the new ownership, their goal is gonna be to get below the 2nd apron and everyone around the league knows it.

Articles all over now about Celtics trading Brown for Cooper Flagg. I'd generally ignore it, but it's the Mavericks, so it's possible.

That's pretty interesting. I do think the Mavs will trade the pick and JB fits pretty well with Kyrie and AD.

Cs doing a mini rebuild and Tatum out all year would make the Dame injury sting even more.

I would like to say there is no way Flagg gets traded for Brown but who knows with that organization.

I'd for sure be panicking if I was a Dallas fan.

Mavs aren't going to trade the first pick for a maxed out Brown.

And yet they traded Luka for a maxed out AD.

Once again, in Nico, all things are possible, so jot that down.

They aren’t trading Flagg. Think a big part of the new owners M.O. is saving cash. Flagg is a potentially cost controlled star for the next four years.

That’s intriguing. Jrue as a defender who doesn’t have to play the point if you also keep KPJ would give you some nice defensive units if you can find any sort of wing.

KPJ (on the BAE)
Jrue
Rollins (early bird rights)
AJG
Giannis
Bobby
Sims
Smith
Whatever you can get with the MLE (Reid or Aldama?)
Whatever you can get with the $7M TPE (absorb whatever guy someone needs to shed for threshold purposes)
That’s a decent start to a fun team

Again, you have to let Brook walk unless he takes a min salary because you need access to the full MLE, BAE, and you TPE to bring in better pieces.

Can you use the MLE to absorb someone in a trade? Can that be combined with a TPE?

Adding that the Bucks should probably avoid trading any future picks this offseason as you’d want to have those to combine with Dame’s expiring in the 26 offseason for trades.imo

Especially until you know if Giannis will actually extend.

Which is what makes that Jrue trade intriguing. It’s also works perfectly for Boston because they can’t aggregate salaries or take back more than they send out.

I’m assuming they will dump Jrue, dump Zinger, dump Hauser, let Horford walk and keep Pritchard and Brown around to sell tickets.

Some of the stuff I'm seeing from Spurs fans on twitter, reddit, etc on a potential Giannis trade is legitimately hilarious. Unless we're getting basically everything short of Wemby, **** them.

FFS we don't want Jrue and his $100 million 3 year contract. I'll keep Kuzma and 2/$44 million. Jrue is done.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yeah, nostalgia is a hell of a drug. Jrue is a consummate pro but at that salary he'll have an outsized role.

I love Jrue. And would redo the Dame trade if given the chance, even with Jrue’s big contract extension.

BUT, the guy doesn’t look healthy out there. Looks like he’s lost 25 pounds and seems to have lost some strength. Pass.

I watched Jrue these past few games and his defense is still very good. Tell me what Kuzma does well.

Remember the Bucks aren't going to have any good picks of their own, so there is no benefit to losing. If I was going to tank, Kuzma would be my first draft choice.
