Trades are always about getting the best player, and there's a high probability Scottie is better than the number two pick (and lower risk because you know what you are getting), and RJ and Castle are probably a wash.

The trade won't be for Castle, it would be for Harper.

Right, but sitting here right now, assessing all the probabilities and risk, taking out the recency bias around the Harper hype, and choosing between Harper and Barnes- Barnes is the safer choice for a Bucks franchise to get back on its feet.

Poeltl, Dick, Agbaji, #9, and 4 future FRP's should be a competitive offer for 2 years of Giannis.

Milwaukee says no

The CBA says no. Giannis makes $54M/year you can't get him without trading at least one large salary.

It wasn't meant to be a real trade package, but an example of the assets we'd use. I know it needs more salary filler.

Rookie Deal for the next 4 years + RFA rights which means likely 9 years of player control vs Max contract for the next 5, that's a massive difference if you think these players are even close in potential

Why would Giannis want to go to the stacked west where every superstar is at? Unless he's going to a team that immediately becomes favorites to make it out

People need to be realistic. If we trade for Giannis consider what is left to play with him considering we will have to gut the team. If we give up Scottie maybe that works but then who is he trying to win a title with? Brandon Ingram and Immanuel Quickley and a bunch of young guys who can't shoot?

We are not in a buyer's mode because we are nowhere near contention. Teams like OKC, Houston and even San Antonio are much further along and have the correct asset base to make both sides of the deal work.

Literally no reason for him to come here

Bad tax situation
Cold
Team nowhere near contention
Nobody is tripping over themselves to play with Scottie Barnes (who probably would be included in this trade anyway)

Perkins has no sources

Sure, but what's the point of going safe for the Bucks right now? They're not going to compete for a while so they may as well swing for a guy that has poor man's James Harden as his ceiling. What does Barnes give them exactly?

Such a waste of time even contemplating....he is going to end up in Texas, it's only a matter of which of team, SAS or HOU?!

The only "darkhorse" for Giannis is OKC if they get eliminated before the Finals but especially if DEN bounces them.

My money is on the Spurs as I think Silver made sure SAS has the right sort of "crown jewel" to offer ie/ a top 2 pick PLUS ATL's other picks and Castle if push comes to shove AND I think San Antonio will also be Giannis' favorite destination. He's made plenty of public praise of Wemby and they'd not only have a clear duo but Fox is a guy who can carry them in the clutch and the Spurs defence would just be absolutely ridiculous. The media attention would flock to SA. That's a potential mini dynasty waiting to happen. HOU can still be a pretty good fit and they have the assets as well but short of teaming up with Shai & Chet, I think Fox & Wemby is easily THE best landing spot AND now arguably the most valuable assets to offer.

Giannis isn't wasting his time on a "maybe" with TOR especially with the taxes, cold and lack of real star power.

While I'm sure it has ever happened, I can't actually recall anything Perkins has ever said which was correct. In fact, the majority of the stuff he says is remarkably stupid, generally speaking. So this doesn't make me feel good about this being any sort of realistic possibility. Obviously, though, it would be super epic if it actually happened and that is crow I would be quite happy to eat, lol.

The Giannis possibility ended the second the lotto balls didn't yield at least a top 2 pick. Giannis vetos any trade that sends Scottie the other way and many teams will beat basically any other package we send back.

Perkins has no sources

No team he’d end up on other than maybe okc would be close to contention.
It’s colder in Milwaukee.
It’s funny no one mentions taxes when talking about California teams. People gotta start looking thru the propaganda a little bit.
I don’t know if Toronto is a front runner but we have the assets and the connection. We’re in a good spot to land Giannis and I hope Masai kicks the tires there.

In our championship year we got Danny green in the kawhi trade and then traded for gasol later in the year. If the opportunity is there you strike first and ask questions later. We can fill out the other spots later. Btw Giannis/quickey/ingram/poeltl/agbaji is a heck of a balanced lineup and would be tops in defense and offense

Giannis has recently mentioned he wants to play in a big market, sorry unfortunately in terms of ad revenue and eyeballs Toronto isn’t it. I think he ends up in NY with KAT and others going to Milwaukee
