If Khaman and Queen are not there, Hawks need to trade the pick for a vet Center like Mitchell Robinson, Daniel Gafford, Jonas Valanciunas, Jalen Duren, because Hawks need to win now as Trae will be turning 28

There's no way you trade the 13th pick for any of Robinson. Gafford or Valanciunas. Only Duren would be worth it, but why would Detroit?

I hate to break it to you but the 2025 draft is so weak. Their is just Flagg and everybody else. Basically similar to the 2019 or 2016 draft.

It's the value in the pick itself....you don't trade that for expiring players, particularly when we already have pick deficits over the next few years.
If the draft is weak, then you move the pick plus stuff for real value not for players of this ilk.

Asa Newell feels like a Dereck Lively II caliber player in the league...eventually.

2nd Round Draft Target:

Won't be a starter any time soon...but should be an above average backup Center for years to come

His combine results will be everything. They seem to fancy him as too much of a tweener. Body of a 4 but too much game of a pure 5.

I like what I see overall. Kind of a suped up version of Mo.

I'm skeptical that we keep both draft picks this year, but if it does happen...one of them has to be used on a big man, right?

If we have both:
At pick #13, take best available...would love a two way player with real ball skills, ideally a player for the front court.
At pick #22, take a big man.

Rocco's likely 2+ years away from being a rotation player.

But there is some serious upside in the long run...

As much as I am intrigued by Maluach, I'd rather have multiple picks and take Sorber at 13 or 22 than combine those picks for 1 gamble on Khaman...

It seems as if there will be ample centers in the 20+ range...I have this idea of trading #22 to Nets for #26, #27 and Day'Ron Sharp. (provided the drafts falls as the Hawks expect). Use #26 to draft a big to groom.
#27 can be traded for a future 2026 1st
Or traded for another up and coming player at some position.

Correct, same as trading down from Zac for Buzelis, Clingan, etc. for better value and returns. Sorber is an absolute unit and would likely win his individual matchup with Malauch.

Asa Newell is trending down for some reason.

Feels like he is gonna get drafted too low and outplay his draft slot at this point.
