I'm not playing this game. Been through it with Shohei Otani. Never again will I allow myself to be pulled in.

Giannis is smart so he's not going to get suckered into coming to Toronto when Houston & San Antonio amongst others await.

Why would you come to Toronto
He's probably had enough of living in Milwaukee

Google "Hind Rajab"
Total Killed by Israel = 50,000+
Israel kills a child every 45 minutes and ban aid workers from bringing in baby formula
Total being starved by Israel = 500,000 -1,000,000
Speak up

With the price it would take to get him, its hard to see Toronto being ant better than Milwaukee currently would be with him.
Plus I think Giannis is going to decide where he ends up playing and its going to be a team that is ready to win.

it would likely be scottie + for him
Yeah, I agree.
I guess I read someone else's post about giving up everything but Scottie and thought in that unlikely scenario we still wouldn't be in good shape.

Sure, but what's the point of going safe for the Bucks right now? They're not going to compete for a while so they may as well swing for a guy that has poor man's James Harden as his ceiling. What does Barnes give them exactly?
You think teams are just ready to go hog wild for tanking after they have learned the flatten odds literally lead to two number one picks in a row going to play in teams.
The era of the tank is dead......teams will take a much more cautious an asset oriented approach to team building moving forward. The pick is a unknown asset, Scottie is a known asset the can build a solid team around.

No. And there is no need for Milwaukee to tank given their pick situation. My point is what's the point of Barnes when you don't have a guy that can score the basketball? Might as well go after the guy that can score. It's not like Barnes is taking them to the playoffs. That roster needs so much work.

I can't conceive of any other offer than:
Scotty, 1 of either IQ or RJ, plus 3 to 4 years of picks/swaps.
No alternative to that deal seems remotely realistic.

Those are basically the scenarios he would accept. To the Spurs to play with Wemby/Fox, or OKC to play with Shai/Chet. They have all the assets to make it happen.
As tough as the west is, they'd be clear, overwhelming favourites.

If we were a season ahead of where we are and Gradey, Walter, Shead, or Mogbo suddenly jump into elite categories on defense or offense we'd have a shot. As of now we aren't anywhere close. The Mavs, Spurs, OKC, and Houston have much better assets to offer. This isn't even worth talking about.
