I think someone should start a GoFundMe to pay for a lavish vacation for Nico and his family as a personal gift for lucking us into Cooper Flagg.
The last 2 weeks of June would be the perfect time.

And this is an irony at its best.

Sources told ESPN that Patrick Dumont, who just finished his first year as the Mavs' governor, considers the opportunity to be in position to draft a generational talent like Flagg a "gift."

"I don't know who we're going to take, but should we take him, I think his résumé is pretty strong," Mavs CEO Rick Welts said Tuesday. "Every time he's put in a situation that everyone wondered if he could succeed, he's succeeded and then some."

Someone should tell these clowns that they already had a player like that.

And even Kyrie knows it was rigged.

16 times, the Dallas Mavericks have entered the NBA Draft Lottery and 16 times they have either stayed the exact same position or fallen in the draft.

Read on Twitter

Luka was the gift to save LA. Sucks that of all teams it had to be the Mavs to get chosen but it is what it is at this point. They did that to NOLA before for AD. LA is priority number 1. Luka's body doesn't look like it will hold up the next 8 years. Mavs have at least 8 years of Cooper Flagg. If Luka breaks down and leaves the league, Mavs send Cooper to LA and gets gifted another top pick in 8 years. It's just like that. Just enjoy the show man.

Wemby vs Flagg would be this generations Tim Duncan vs Dirk Nowitzki for San Antonio and Dallas.

Giannis could have made sense if Kyrie wasn't out for most of the next season.
And after giving up basically everything for GA, what's left to improve our biggest weakness (backcourt)? Even with healthy Kai we still have no true starting PG level.
Nah, I'd rather build organically around Flagg with no hurry at all and, if anything, I would move AD for another top3 pick in this draft.

Cooper has to be the new cornerstone of this franchise, I'd move him only for Luka just because I still badly miss my boy.

And let me say I feel bad for the Utah/Was/Cha fans of this world, but what happened to the Mavs fans in that nefarious February is even worse..

It's part of the Luka deal. They can get top picks in any other draft. Just don't tank the year after a star is sent to LA. That pick is already spoken for. Which is what happened this year.

Marc Stein is reporting Mavs are NOT trading the pick for Giannis or for anyone. Mavs are keeping the pick.

If Stein is reporting that, that's what's going to happen.

Remember when the Lakers had Magic and Kareem and they still drafted Worthy with the first pick. That's going to be similar to having Kyrie and AD and still drafting Flagg. He can be your James Worthy in this equation and that's fine. Flagg doesn't have to be all Larry Bird coming off the gate. Ignore the Luka stans saying he won't be first team All NBA yada yada yada. Like jealous ex girlfriends stalking outside the restaurant when their boyfriends get a new girl. Luka has a new team. Move with him and worry about that. Go be great there. LOL

Worthy is a 6'9 two way SF just like Flagg IMO. Also drafted first overall in 82.

Larry Bird was 4 years older than Flagg coming into the league.

Flagg is a kid, don't forget it guys. He needs time but he will be good.

Even Euroleague MVP didn't dominate in his first NBA season at 18yo, keep calm and don't expect another Doncic.

That's not what I meant. You got Luka stans betting money on Twitter saying Flagg will never sniff first team All NBA like Luka. All I'm saying is that's fine. Then support Luka on that other side. Flagg can be who he is and even if that's a 3rd fiddle like James Worthy, that's fine. It's not a competition. The world doesn't revolve around just Luka. It's not a comparison everytime. Luka stans have main character syndrome. It's not about Luka every time. There's the Laker board for if they're into that type of glazing.

At this point, Lebron might actually keep extending now that Luka is there to do the heavy lifting. His chances of winning more titles just went up. And his second son is about to be drafted by the Lakers soon.

Yes, but at 50+M per year is just a ballast to carry for Luka... And Luka has no 10 years of basketball in his body probably.

Yeah I don't see Luka playing well at 36 years old in the NBA.

Plus he knows as soon as he leaves Bronny will be out of a job.

I still think at some point in his 30’s he’s just going to go back to Europe and play.

Yes... It's a realistic scenario.

Cooper Flagg was born in 2006, Arkuo and Dirk (the mod) were arguing about Nash leaving in FA here on RGM when Flagg wasn't even an embryo...
