ESPN reporting that Mavs plan to draft Flagg and won't do a trade.

And this is an irony at its best.

Sources told ESPN that Patrick Dumont, who just finished his first year as the Mavs' governor, considers the opportunity to be in position to draft a generational talent like Flagg a "gift."

"I don't know who we're going to take, but should we take him, I think his résumé is pretty strong," Mavs CEO Rick Welts said Tuesday. "Every time he's put in a situation that everyone wondered if he could succeed, he's succeeded and then some."

Someone should tell these clowns that they already had a player like that.

And even Kyrie knows it was rigged.

Luka was the gift to save LA. Sucks that of all teams it had to be the Mavs to get chosen but it is what it is at this point. They did that to NOLA before for AD. LA is priority number 1. Luka's body doesn't look like it will hold up the next 8 years. Mavs have at least 8 years of Cooper Flagg. If Luka breaks down and leaves the league, Mavs send Cooper to LA and gets gifted another top pick in 8 years. It's just like that. Just enjoy the show man.

And after giving up basically everything for GA, what's left to improve our biggest weakness (backcourt)? Even with healthy Kai we still have no true starting PG level.
Nah, I'd rather build organically around Flagg with no hurry at all and, if anything, I would move AD for another top3 pick in this draft.

Cooper has to be the new cornerstone of this franchise, I'd move him only for Luka just because I still badly miss my boy.
