Re: 2025 Draft prospects - thread 2
Honestly, unless a Curry/Luka/Jokic/Haliburton-type can't-miss offensive prospect is on the board at #12 (which AFAIC, there isn't)**, the Bulls are best off just drafting the highest ceiling two-way player. Whether it's shooting, passing, slashing, dunking, ball handling - I'm open. If Malauch is a put-back/oop/easy-dunk in the paint... makes FTs... then he is a solid offensive player. The numbers suggest he's efficient. Does that translate to NBA? No idea. For the record, guys like Ware, Missi and Bam couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in college either. They're variations of this type of player. Malauch for a college rookie projects well.
** Queen, Richardson, Kasparas are the 3 who might be in this category. Don't look like it to me, but I'm not an avid college fan. But my hunch is the Giddey-Coby defensive string is gets worse with either of those 3. Does that matter as much? Not really, cause you weigh their star potential against Coby's non-star potential. But is the offense good enough to compensate for bad defense? Haliburton and Curry stood out to me as offensive prospects, despite dropping past top-5. I don't exactly see that in these 3. But who knows. Kasparas sliding could be Matas 2.

Re: 2025 Draft prospects - thread 2
I don't follow the Bulls all that closely lately, but it looks to me like they could use a good 3 and D wing, and a rim protector. From what I've seen of the mocks, it looks like there should be a decent prospect at 12 who can fill one of those roles. Of course, it should always be BPA when your team is as devoid of talent as the Bulls, but all things being equal, more shooting, more D, more inside presence seems to be on the bill.

He shot a higher percentage than that in live games. Which was still low. But I already knew he couldn’t shoot 3s. And despite that he’s one of my top 5 guys to take at 12.

I think Cedric Coward is in my top 3 at this point.
Jalen Williams measurables. Great shooting signs (and crushes the look test here).

Looking like he’d be a great pick at 12. Small school experience doesn’t bother me - hes a Duke portal commit and likely would go much higher next season after being on national display. Hidden gem if he lasts until 12. Knocked it out of the park this week with his measurables at the Combine and hit 71% of 3s in shooting. By all accounts hes got a dawg mentality as well.

So....umm......he's probably off of my list. My hope was his shooting would get better. Still could, but this ain't promising.

Everyone talks about his offense, but he was actually a pretty good defender and rebounder. Bc of his ball skills and passing, I wonder if the ceiling isn't just much higher with him than other guys. The turnovers don't really worry me. He won't be the best ball handler on the Bulls.
I legitimately wouldn't watch a Bulls game this year if we reached for Wolf. He's going to be another Henry Elleson/Harongody without the shooting.

Collin Dalen Terry-Boyles.
That jumper makes Dalen’s look good.

This is silly. His stroke is fine. He will be fine.

Not a fan. I don't think CMB is good enough to move Matas to the three. He could be a good option for the Thunder at pick 15.

It's fine to not be a fan, that's what discussion boards are for, its absurd to watch him shoot for 20 seconds and write him off.

He’s not even in my top 10 lol. Give me Fleming over him for sure. Probably Newell and Sorber too. And maybe this new Coward guy. I like what I see.

I had zero interest in CMB before this shooting video came out, screams Thomas Robinson to me.
I'd definitely take Sorber, Fleming and even Newell over him, and I'm not a fan of Newell.
Here to argue about nonsensical things and suck away your joy.

Re: 2025 Draft prospects - thread 2
I wouldn't draft Wolf at 12, but he's better than those two. Harangody was 6'6 without shoes as a big, and Wolf is way more productive than Ellenson was coming out.
Wolf has a higher bpm than Ellenson. Got to the rim more and shot a better percentage there, shot more 3s with a better percentage, more dunks, better AST% with a better assist to turnover ratio, etc. They have completely different shot profiles as well. Ellenson lived in the midrange area with over 200 shot attempts. Wolf is older, but he's bringing more to the table here.

Small sample size, but at 6'6 with a 7'2 wingspan, hard to envision him not being at least a neutral defender.

This board isn't ready for Billy playing CMB at the 5 a lot.
Still my guy at 12, though.

It's not just the 20 seconds. It's that coupled with the 50+ games that is scary.

Yeah, unlike Buzelis or Demin where you can see the technique and fluidity is there and can project the shot will come around, this needs an incredible amount of work.
I still don’t happen to believe, at all, that everyone has to shoot 3s. Depending on the prospect, it’s not at all a deal breaker for me.

Well, I do still think he’s a fine prospect at 12 and this doesn’t scare me off. But that strike is not fine. It’s crappy both in fundamentals and in natural fluidity.
I think almost anyone talented enough to reach the NBA can become passable three point shooter. I’m not suggesting he can’t. But there are numerous problems with this 3 ball.

I don't see the problem, Peter Patton can fix...oh, never mind, pass.
