Wolf has a higher bpm than Ellenson. Got to the rim more and shot a better percentage there, shot more 3s with a better percentage, more dunks, better AST% with a better assist to turnover ratio, etc. They have completely different shot profiles as well. Ellenson lived in the midrange area with over 200 shot attempts. Wolf is older, but he's bringing more to the table here.
IMO, many look at Wolf as an elite playmaking C with 3 range because he's billed as a 7 footer. First off, he's 6'10, same as Matas. Second, he's a PF, not a C. He doesn't have much of a back-to-the-basket game, nor offer much rim protection. He is very good off the dribble and a very good passer. He is a decent 3pt shooter. In many ways, his offensive game is similar to what we saw from Matas last season, without the defensive chops. Also, he's an older prospect.
As a UofM fan, I wouldn't hate drafting him if we traded for a late-teens, early 20's pick, but at 12, I think there are guys who have more upside and are better fits.
