Even more wild would be 11 different teams making the Finals in that time, with no team making it more than twice. Legit, this is a fantastic time to be an NBA fan.

I'm loving it

11 different teams make the finals and the Knicks won't be one of them. Loving it.

Means we gotta starting asking questions about the players, from Donovan Mitchell downwards. My eyes were definitely opened when the Pistons gave us a harder challenge this year...we had a better team than the iteration we had when we played against the Cavs back then, and their Detroit team was definitely less talented than the Cavs team we played back then. But somehow Bickerstaff got these guys, with Tobias Harris (????????) and THJ (???) to play tougher????? It's not like they were more talented. But certainly, much much tougher in a way the Cavs have never been.

I'm reading up some of the stories from past playoffs losses to now, and it's always the same. "We got out-toughed"..."they punched us first." Not sure if you can fix that.

Look at these quotes from different articles from the Athletic...nothing has changed.

"Nevertheless, this ending looks awfully similar to years past: pushed around physically, overmatched and overwhelmed by what was supposed to be an inferior opponent."

"This is the third postseason in a row Jarrett Allen has been a complete ghost when the Cavs needed him most. The Knicks pushed him around two years ago when he conceded the lights were too bright. His ribs were injured last year in the first-round series against the Orlando Magic, and he missed the rest of the playoffs, frustrating members of the organization in the process. His combined stat line from the last two games in this series: 11 points and six rebounds. In two games. "

"With Donovan Mitchell’s strengths (jaw-dropping awesomeness for the first three games against Indiana) and weaknesses (running out of gas in Game 2 and turning into mush in Game 4) on display for a second consecutive postseason run, is Garland the right player to have next to him? "

And the best part? Evan Mobley is about to get paid more for getting DPOY, which means their cap situation is going to get hellish and lead to tougher situations.

I don't know if the Cavs were still beat up the last 3 games after being so those first couple of games, but one thing for sure was apparent, their psyche was beat up because they didn't have much fight.

At least Bickerstaff had the Pistons battling since his personality is quite combative in nature, maybe Atkinson is too much of a nice guy to help cultivate a team with an edge.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

We all talked about Donovan and Garland is not a good defensive backcourt. Just like 2 years ago with Fournier and Brunson. Grimes made us much better.

Cavs got all sort of problems. And don't forget they have a softie front court . Trade Garland for Nick claxton and D Russell lol. Allen for Derrick white lol

Atkinson got praise all season for taking the roster to the next level, he should get some criticism for losing in 5 too. If Thibs lost in 5 to a better Celtics team he would get most of the blame. I have not watched the Cavs closely, here is a fan's opinion from their reddit:

For me this is almost 100% Kenny's fault. Most of us saw how, after the All-Star break, the team was not playing the basketball it had been playing before. It was scraping out victories trying to hang on to the first seed and everyone was saying that Kenny "is just resting players for the playoffs". History showed that that was BS. There were obvious problems that he didn't address.

Game 2 was lost because of him. Three times they couldn't inbound the ball. Even after a time-out. If one of those inbounds was done correctly we would still have a series. Yesterday, one minute into the 3rd quarter Carlisle calls a timeout at 11:00 because he saw two disturbing defensive plays from his team. Kenny called a timeout well after we lost the lead. He had Jerome sitting, punishing him for some reason, and puts him in in the 4th where he gives as a valuable spark. Imagine if he had tested that earlier even for short bursts. CPJ was warming the bench even though he showed great energy in the little he played in Game 2. Completely forgotten since then. Javonte Green, Jaylon Tyson, just give them a chance for a couple of minutes, at least use them to rest starters for a little bit. These are things we saw with JB and were convinced we would not see with Kenny. Ball movement went out the window. It was all hero ball. I don't enjoy Mitchell chucking like crazy in the hope he gets his groove back. If it's not going in, use your superstar gravity to open spaces and create plays for your teammates. Kenny should be the one telling him to do that and bringing him back to reality. Threes not going in. Utilize Mobley. Even if the threes are going in, still utilize Mobley.

East is going to be brutally bad next season compared to the West. Minny to the East during league expansion can't come soon enough from a competitive standpoint. From a NYK standpoint, let's take advantage of these potentially "weak" next couple of years and keep on coming out of the East as often as we can.

Guy is the anti thibs. Must be nice.

Thibs is about to go to the finals and they are struggling and will continue to struggle with their deep stacked roster. Not the place, nor the time to roast Thibs.

He will expose them should they get to the finals (which they will not).
