OKC can do it, but they are facing a very big salary crunch soon, so they may not be interested for financial reasons.

SA can also do it, but just because they have the assets to do it, doesn't mean they will. Giannis is going to be 31 by the end of the year and they may decide against using their best assets on a guy on the wrong side of 30 whose next deal might not look so good in a few years.

a 25 year old Giannis is a no-brainer for every team, a 31 year old looking for a max deal taking him into his mid-late 30s, may give some teams pause.

I agree. He should go to OKC or Cleveland.

They can, but they won't

To get Giannis? They instantly becomes the Favs in the West with Giannis/Wemby/Fox on the same team....And they would still have some solid depth with guys like Keldon/Barnes/CP3/Vassell/Sochan....I think if they can keep the 14th pick it would be ideal but i feel any trade involving Giannis will be pick heavy...

Whats the downside of making that move? Giannis is a top 3 player...

Masai needs to pull it off to salvage the last 3 years or so.

Cleveland can offer Garland and Allen...2 AllStar level guys in their primes and each have term on their contracts...3 and 4 years respectively. They just don't have the picks that OKC can throw at The Bucks.

But if I am Giannis, staying in the East gets you a better chance of making the Finals and maybe the West beats up on one another along the way.

Will be interesting

Scottie and Gianni’s are a horrible fit. If you’re trading for Gianni’s Scottie is being shipped out.

They're a horrible fit at SF/PF but theyd be great at C/PF. You just need to get an above average bacup C for particular matchups but we could have our very own "death lineup"

Scottie for Giannis. A prime Scottie will never be as good as a 33 year old Giannis, so why not take the trade.

If BI can stay healthy and we move some pieces around we could win another chip.

I think you gotta be all in on this if we're us worst case we just roll with what we got but if Giannis is asking out you have to try.

A Giannis-Ingram pairing makes more sense than Giannis-Scottie both in age and in complementary skills. You hope you can sell Scottie to the Bucks that he will be a multi All-Star. I don't think we have the best package, but Scottie, RJ, and some young assets is a pretty competitive offer IMO.

Cleveland is a 2nd apron team and can only do 1 for 1 trades with matching salary.

Selling Scottie to the Bucks wouldn't be hard (if he asks out). The extremely difficult part, impossible IMO, is selling Giannis on a sidekick who has averaged 45 games per season over the last 4 years. Good luck with that. Middleton has even played more than him over the last 5 years. He's also not coming here to play with IQ, Dick and Ja'Kobe lol. He wants to win multiple titles, he just said this a few weeks ago.

Not disparaging BI. I love that trade for us. But us fans loving the BI acquisition is based on hope. A top 3 player isn't going to hitch his wagon to a sidekick like that based on hope.

Great point...I didn't look at that. My bad.

In that same vein, then Brooklyn is a no too. So who in the East is a match...and we know he dislikes Indy so they are ruled out.

Well, I don't believe the reports about him wanting to stay in the East. It was inevitable that we would be used for clickbait and leverage.

Makes a lot of sense if Giannis’s goal is to win more championships. The East is clearly the easier path to get to the Finals for the foreseeable future.

I just dont' see the Nets. They don't have assets to trade for him AND then field a competitive team. The team is just too light on existing talent.
